Lucius, good suggestions!

One more suggestion up for consideration... Jonny Lang. If you've never seen Eric Clapton's concert (Crossroads, I think) in Chicago, check it out. Some of the best blues guitarists on earth IMHO.

The first time I heard him, I had an image in my mind. When I actually saw him, I thought he would be a skateboarder!

In Illinois, the band I was in played "Still Raining" . The lead guitarist loved blues, and I tended more toward rock, and this song did both!

Crossroads.... Now That's a Festival!

Jonny Lang is my new favorite guitarist! I've seen a few of the Crossroads Festivals on TV but I may have missed that one. Thanks for posting those videos - I like Jonny's music. I'll be sure to look for it next time I'm at the CD store (yes, I still buy CD's).

Gary Clark, Jr. is somebody we saw on one of the Crossroads shows - I bookmarked his web site so I could check to see if he's coming to Georgia or the southeast but I don't think he's been here yet. With Gary and Jonny (and others) there's proof that blues will live on.

By the way, has another Crossroads Guitar Festival been scheduled? I think the last one was 2010, so it seem like another is in order. Anyone interested in an AirForums rally?

I guess we've gone on a tangent here with all the discussion about music. Maybe between sets of the live band playing at Springstream we plug in an iPod or something keep the music going.

I saw Lang at the Hendrix experience concert. He was ok, but for me too many painful expressions that make what he does look so hard.
Check out the best "new" guitarist in the blues rock world Joe Bonamassa. Saw him live here in Nov. he was fantastic. Can do anything with his guitars from original to blues to Zeppelin style and more. What a tone.
He is also a humble and friendly guy...a rarity amongst hot lead guitar players.

Joe at Royal Albert Hall.

Hey Alan,

I was thinking of Joe Bonamassa when I read the previous posts. We haven't seen him live but we did buy his live CD after seeing him on PBS last year. The CD is from the Royal Albert Hall performance. He's definitely a powerful force in the blues guitar genre.

Gary Clark, Joe Bonamassa... like it. A lot.

Here's a little something from the black and whites.

See you all soon!

Wow! That's really an interesting twist on Stormy Monday. Good Stuff!

I previously put Lee Michaels in the one-hit-wonder category because of the song "Do You Know What I Mean?" - that song received so much air-play and his other songs were ignored to a great extent. So I took some time this morning to listen to Lee Michaels songs (the internet is such a great thing).

Going further on a musical tangent... Check out Wolfgang's Vault - this site started several years ago when somebody stumbled onto Bill Graham's live recordings from concerts in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The site has been improved over the years and includes a wide variety of new and old music. You can listen for FREE without registering. Free registration gives you more control of what you listen to and the ability to make play lists. I don't know what you get if you subscribe/pay.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a week or so. Danielle assures me that we have plenty of blues CD's in the mix.

Weather Looks Good

I looked at weather.com today to see the prediction for next weekend in Hiawassee - low about 40 and high in the mid 60's - sounds good to me. No rain predicted at this time. A sweater or light jacket should do. A hot beverage of your choice or something that otherwise "warms" the blood.

Can you tell I'm excited about Springstream?

We are new to AS. Having difficulty find out information on Airforums about the rally next weekend. Can anyone direct me as what we need to do... registration/event schedule etc.? We have reservations for a site but not sure what to do next. Thanks all. Brett Murphree

Hi Jim. If this spot is still available I would love to have it. We have made reservations up on the hill but would like to be down the hill since this will be out very first Airstream rally. My email is best and fastest bamurphree@gmail.com. Best regards, Brett
