Spring Rally in Northern Illinois

Time to think Spring.

After enduring an unusually rough Winter its time to think about hitching up, getting out on the road, and getting the Camping Season going.

We’ll be gathering at the Seward Bluffs Campground in Pecatonica Illinois on May 16,17 and 18th.

Seward Bluffs « WCFPD

The Park is located between Rockford and Freeport, south of Route 20, off of Pecatonica Road, with plenty of gravel and grass sites, 30 and 50 amp electric, and water hydrants throughout the park with a dump station.

We’ve moved the dates ahead a week from the usual 2nd weekend in May to add an extra week for the weather, we hope, to warm up.
As a bonus this will coincide with the Pec Thing Flea market.

Winnebago County Fairgrounds

Sue and I have gone to this Flea Market and really enjoy it.

With luck we’ll get some great Spring weather and put this miserable Winter behind us.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

See you soon,
Tom and Sue

I am not sure what it going on. I hope to make it, but with school and work, it looks like a late Friday arrival. I will see if I can convince my daughter to skip a day of school so we can come out early on Friday.

Think warm happy thoughts!

7 more weeks until we’re basking in the warm spring sunshine at Pec.
That’s what I was thinking driving into work yesterday with the big wet snowflakes plopping on the windshield.

Now that the ice has gone from around the trailer we went out to see how she weathered the winter. Looks OK. No leaks, the window repair from last summer held and there were no mice. Just need to do a few little trim projects, de-winterize and we’ll be ready to roll.

Sue wanted to remind everyone Saturday night will be a pot luck with your own cooked meat and a dish to pass.

See everyone soon,
Tom and Sue

Looks like I will be bringing the trailer out on Thursday to get a spot. I will hang out for lunch and then leave the trailer and head home. The kids have an early dismissal on Friday. Maybe, just maybe we can be out there by 4:30 -5 o'clock on Friday.

The time is getting close for the Spring Rally in Northern Illinois. May 16, 17 & 18 are the dates. Please post if you are planning on coming. There is a Flea Market that week-end in Pecatonica and the park will fill fast. We will try to save space as there are NO reservations at the park
On Saturday night will be good old potluck, bring your own meat and a dish to pass.

Finally a nice weekend.
The Tradewind has been "Summerized" and we are looking forward to getting out and going camping.
We're not sure yet what we are bringing for the dish to pass for the potluck dinner on Saturday but I'm sure Sue will come with something interesting.
Sue just reminded me to bring the roll around cart so she can load up on goodies at the Pec Thing Flea Market.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and we'll see everybody soon.
Tom and Sue

This maybe a silly question but....
We are picking up our very first Airstream ( first time RV) from the dealer in Joliet on May 15. We were thinking of doing our shakedown weekend near Starved Rock so we could be close to dealer....
Would a rally be a better choice? Further from dealer but I could see some possible advatages of camping within a community of airstream devotees.
Thoughts?
Is there still room if that is a yes?
