Hard to believe a little over 4 weeks away.Remember Saturday nite is our potluck dinner, bring your own meat and a western type dish to pass.
I will be bringing a Texas sheet cake and coleslaw, don't know what Tom has planned.

Bill/Penny; you can bring any dish to pass as long as there is something to eat in it. You should know this group by now.
See you in May.

Winnebago County has three other parks - Sugar River, Seward Bluffs and Hononegah - are any of them suitable?

Otherwise, can this be a boondocking rally?

Watch for updates due to the possible disconnection of electricity.

we vote stay as planned, with or without electricity we all can manage. i will donate the honda genny for limited charging of batteries for all if necessary but would rather not run it full time as most of us are pretty self contained.

I sent a request for information on the electric project to the FPD tonight. I suspect Sue will be calling the office tomorrow.
If I don't get any feedback from the FPD I'll drive out this weekend and check the condition of the 4 campgrounds and report back. From what I've been able to find there probably won't be any campground hosts on site until May.
While I was on the FPD website I read through the minutes of the last 3 Board meetings. Nothing pertanent concerning construction to Pec River or the letting of bids.
Everyone hang in there for now. Lets see what develops.

Tom

Don Merideth (football player/Monday night football announcer) always said "turn out the lights, the party's over" Maybe ours will be NO LIGHT, THE PARTY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN" could be fun.

I received an e-mail from the Winnebago Forest District this AM. There will be NO electricity at the Pecatonica campground this year and (?). No $ for repairs.
We need to "vote" : Pecatonica or Seward Bluff. Vote/reply here.

Seward Bluff is located south of US-20; Pecatonica is north of US-20 at same intersection.

Either place is fine with Penny & I, also have 2 gen. can bring 1 is 800 other 3500 Pecatonica seems a little quieter than Seward Bluff as they have many other things besides camping

We're okay without electric assuming the campground is relatively shaded and temperatures will be moderate (i.e. not too hot). So I guess our 1st choice is Pecatonica, 2nd choice is Seward Bluff.

We're flexible. How's that for an answer?

There are alot of pines and walnut trees, so plenty of shade. There will be water, the electricity that operates the pump is separate from the campground. It appears we will be back at Pecatonica.
See everyone in May.

Dont know what to do with the bird since we have no electric thus no heat. Checked with my avian vet temps inside need to be no lower than 60 better at 65. Tom will be there the entire time I will most likely come just for Saturday and stay one night, Sammi can be alone one night if fed before I leave, still trying to find another solution
