Sugarfoot,
burnt offerings are my specialty lately. Having a rough tme with cooking. Biggest problem is I don't want to!!
We are in for the cookout Sat night. Do we chip in funds for meat and bring dish to pass, or bring favorite grill offering and dishes to pass.
Let us know.
Marie

I understand Marie. Thing with me is I don't get into cooking so much at the house. But I get these high aspirations when camping and start cranking out dishes for the heck of it. Go figure.
I'm not sure how we're doing the meat thing. That's up to you carnivores. But bringing a side to pass is always welcome. I think we stopped signing up for dishes a few rallies back. Kinda laissez-faire now, just bring something you like and everyone else will eat it . . . trust me.

Sugarfoot,
Thanks. I will get Terry to make one of his terrific pasta salads.

I do requests on ingredients. Let me know if you want sliced mushrooms, salad shrimp, or "straight up".
All pasta salads come with tortellini and assorted veggies in a creamy Italian dressing.

Yum! Veggies for me, hold the meat. No broccoli please, or it won't be pretty.
Way to work it, Marie! Get hubby to do the cooking. You go, girl!

I usually bring Key Lime Pie and that sounds summery to me so put me down for that. I will have to cut it the night before to make sure it's a pie. Last time I made two at one time, in the same oven at the same time, even mixed the custard together and poured half in one pie crust and half in the other. One set and the other...well, it turned out to be Key Lime pudding in a graham cracker crust with a nice meringue on top!

Brian, you can get to Manchester easily using 2 lane back roads from your place if you want to avoid the Atlanta traffic. Here's a short version:
Take Hwy 11 to Walnut Grove then to Covington.
From Covington, take Hwy 81 to McDonough.
From McDonough, take Hwy 155 to Griffin.
From Griffin, take Hwy 19 to Zebulon.
From Zebulon, take Hwy 18 to Woodbury.
From Woodbury, take Hwy 85 to Manchester.
These are all good roads, all of it 2 lane except for maybe 10 miles. It'll take you maybe 2 hours to drive it. We travel these roads all the time to visit family. One of these days we'll get down to Martin's place for a visit (that offer is still good, isn't it, Martin?). It's near my family's "old home place" in Warm Springs. Martin published a few pictures here on the forum a while back. Looks "just like home"!

Airstreams always welcomed. Just bring food and brew.
We are working hard on various areas to give visitors a camping spot with a sense of privacy. Your own grove of trees, view, etc. Some with power, some for boondocking. A forum rally is in the future. Get those tires mounted and come on down. We are there almost every weekend.
Let's see if this link will work.
4180 Chalybeate Springs Rd, Woodland, GA 31836 - Google Maps
Pointer is at the entrance on the southeast corner of the property.
Largely defined by the gravel road that loops back around to the paved road.
The large straight line clearing is a power line that runs east and west.
We sell hay from the cleared "pasture" areas to pay taxes and use the wooded area for camping and wildlife viewing.

Dang, I know where that is. Go past Meadows Motors, turn left just before you get to the old Cotton Mill, go up the hill and around. It's a small world. You can through rocks and hit some of my relatives from there!
For all you non-Central-Georgians, that road is pronounced "Kleebut" Springs Road.
The folks in Manchester won't know what to do with all that silver parading thru town! I gotta get the camper rollin'!

Does anyone have a cyclo they can bring to this get together? I have a couple of small panles starting to fade and can't seem to get them back up with my usual methods. If the cyclo and nuvite do the trick I will be buying one. I tried every polish method I normally have used, and the cloudiness has gotten worse each time.

Debby and I have site number #7 reserved. We have camped at a number of Georgia Power camp sites on Lakes before and they were well maintain and a pleasure to spend time at. But we have never been to Blanton Creek and we are looking forward to the rally.

Hey Alansd,
My wife bought me a cyclo polisher for Christmas, along with various polishing grit pastes. I got more than a little busy at work and have not had time to start polishing our trailer.
I see a trade in our furture, I have and will bring the Cyclo and stuff...you can show me how to work the equipment to best results.

That sounds good. I have used one, but not on this trailer. The panels I tried my old methods on really puzzle me. Looking forward to it.....
