Y'all are killing me!
It looks like a lot of fun was had by all. I was able to stand around watching tumbleweeds blowing through the area I work... I guess there's next time, as long as we have the next shindig a bit further West.
Strangely enough, we may be staying there on our way "out of town".

You mean, Alabama? We don't go there.
In all seriousness, how far West?
FYI -- Park is closed until spring. I think that was the common "you gotta be kidding me" discussion at the rally.
It's just like a big corporation to close down a beautiful park right before the best camping season. Makes lots of sense...probably paid that decision maker a nice bonus too.

We are moving to California, and you're right...You've gotta be kidding me about the park being closed. Looks like there is another RV park on the road we'll be on, part of a small chain of RV parks, just NorthWest of Columbus.
As I was packing up a couple stopped by and said that they had been over to the dam and there was a campground over there that was even nicer than Blanton Creek. I think, I could be wrong, but I think they said those sites had sewer connections. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of the campground, but it may be another Georgia Power campground.
So Brad, next time you are out looking for a place to put the kayaks in, try over by the dam and see what kind of campgrounds you fun up on this time.

Cali! Well that's a move. You gotta a job out there already?

Oh no. You said that was how you found this camp ground and you are the only one that is in the area on a regular basis. I thought you might find a place with full hook-ups for the next End-of-Summer Thang Rally.
This camp ground was terrific, but sewer hook-ups would have made it perfect. I'm just not comfortable dumping gray water on the ground and it is a loooong way to the dump station. We prefer to us our own shower and that means we fill our gray tank every day and our blue boy holds less than our gray tank so it would be nice to not have to deal with it. That's all. No set up, no complaints. Just passing on what one of the fellow campers in the camp ground mentioned in passing.
