My son's epilepsy surgery and brain tumor resection has FINALLY been scheduled for Sept. 17th. He has final pre-op testing on the 15th. I am hoping he will be recovered enough for a little trip in mid to late October. Stay in the hospital is expected to be about five days.

The tumor appears to be benign, his seizures seem to be coming from the targeted part of the brain, and his memory and language are mostly on the other side of the brain (one more test soon to confirm this), so all in all he is in great shape to have an excellent outcome. The surgeon (a top doc from Boston Children's) conservatively expects 60 - 80% that M will be seizure and med free, with the possibility of one more surgery to get to 100%.

M has a great attitude about it all and just hopes the surgeon will give him a piece of his brain in a jar as a souvenir! He'll be 15 in a couple of weeks, can you tell

Why not open it up to all forum members in a dedicated rally thread for concensus, you might get more replies outside of the silver sisters online rally??? Here so far everyone is only 3 and you can use a pm.

Grandma's Brag Book

How are all my silver sisters this evening? I am a bit overdue from my trip to Illinois and Wisconsin to post updates on the grandbabies.

What an education I got! I had to learn an entirely new vocabulary. Playpens are called Pack 'n Plays, baby carriers are referred to as Baby Bjorns, boopys are giant travel neck pillows for infants. Both houses were an amassment of brightly colored plastics that all played a variety of audio sounds. Both new moms and dads were doing well and attending to frequent feeding schedules. I had a wonderful visit and will be anxious to return and see how much they have grown by the holiday season.

Our little London Rose only days old pictured here, my son and daughter-in-law and the twins Blake and Preston and Dozer.

Grandma's Brag Book 2

Noah Bradley, six months as pictured with my daughter and son-in-law and grandson Nate. Noah is flipping over and flexing his legs and has started solid foods.

Just to mention again, Noah was born on my husband's birthday and coincidently London Rose was born on my mother's birthday. Get ready for another Leo, this will be interesting if she grows up to be anything like her great grandmother!

I enjoyed your brag books, Carol! Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with the sisters. Has the weather been as glorious in Michigan as it has been in Missouri? After a strange wet chilly long early summer, we've skipped directly into the best of fall, just without the tree color. The air is warm in the sun and champagne bubbly in the shade! I only hope this sunny cool dry season goes on and on. Almost makes me want to pitch another log on the campfire just as the sun comes up. ~G

Lou thank you so much. Our little London is starting out right with proper culture and conditioning. That was very nice of you to send for the baby and also I treasure those hand made cards of yours. Still want to get artsy like the rest of you silver sisters. I used to love doing hand crafts and I think this season I would like to start a new project of some sort. The work of your hands can be so relaxing and rewarding...especially if you are good at it, like Lou and Paula are!!!

Teresa, glad to hear you had a nice tour of Jackson Center. How was it? What were they assembling? My favorite part is always the production line of nearly finished Airstreams.

G. our weather has been wonderful too. We had a chance to back up the Metro Detroit rally with a visit to another Rivette sister, Vickie near Big Rapids and the skies and temperatures were awesome. This time of year is one of my favorites and into fall. Your weather and description sounds divine! Yes campfires are in line and we just bought our first pie iron and I cannot wait to make a pizza one. Brad has had fruit pies but I am strictly a cream pie girl myself, nothing too healthy for me.

Paula I know you have been working on something. What has been keeping you busy lately? Your awning project was a huge job, what have you found to make now? Any new ceramics for your collection?

Good morning sisters!..that little flamingo tank is so cute and pretty pink!!!

Yes, Carol, that awning was humongous!..I was just down in Old Town Sacramento yesterday putting up some historical artifacts and photos for a display that will be viewed during the Annual Gold Rush Days Weekend this August 29-September 2 in Old Sacramento..if you're in the neighborhood, come on by!!..gold panning, doll making, live shoot-em-up cowboys and cowgirls, wagon rides, and a real cannon shoot to boot!!! It's free to the Public too!

The factory tour was great! They were assembling a nice variety that day (Monday) Internationals, Ocean Breeze, Flying Clouds. We got to wander in and out of the almost finished ones.

The only problem with Jackson Center is that the town rolls up the sidewalks on Monday at 2pm. (Kind of strange as the tour gets out at around 4) we had to drive quite a ways for something to eat.

DH was impressed with the quality and likes the Flying Cloud/Safari interior silver and Stratus cushions. We did sit in a Classic with Hickory cabinets and 'p'leather interior. VERY plush but we felt it would be too heavy for our Tahoe to pull.

Fun looking. I'm hoping we are in something new by next summer!

While paddling off the Florida coast, a tourist capsized his kayak. He could swim, but his fear of alligators kept him clinging to the overturned craft. Spotting an old beachcomber standing on the shore, the tourist shouted,"Are there any gators around here?!" "Naw," the man hollered back, "they ain't been around for years!" Feeling safe, the tourist started swimming leisurely toward the shore. About halfway there he asked the guy,"How'd you get rid of the gators?" "We didn't do nothin'," the beachcomber said. "The sharks got 'em."

Two Inuits sitting in a kayak were getting cold so they decided to light a fire in their boat. It promptly sank, proving once again that you can’t have your kayak and heat it too.

I wanna kayak!! Where is Sharon, long time no hear?! Is she still touring around with Peter in their new CCD?

Hey no way - if you can steer your Kayak backwards while avoiding being impaled by a Rivette who is steering backwards while balancing a diet pop - then you grad jee ate with First Class Honors - yeah ha.....

I'm back ladies and honorary gents... We arrived home safely last night around 10:00 - un-scaved from our 3 week inaugural trip with the ModPod out east.

Unfortunately we arrived home in speedy haste as my Mom was rushed into hospital on Tuesday - and Dad only let us know on Friday night. We were going to take an extra day at the camp site we were at on Cape Breton but packed up right away. She is stable and waiting on specialists to sort out some of the issues.

Tomorrow we have yet another By-law amendment meeting over the Lot from Hell - or should I say the neighbours from hell!!!

We returned to an absolute jungle and will need a week at least to cut down the weeds and grass that have grown while we were away. Must consider hiring a gardner next time

We had an absolutely great holiday and met so many nice people along the road. The ModPod past her inspections with flying colours - yes we have some little quirks to work out with her 99% we are 150% pleased with our purchase.....the 1% hmm would be our tow vehicle letting us down and stranding us in the Fundy National Park for 4 days without a vehicle - could not be the worst park or place to be in with NO vehicle....

Anyway I will have lots of stories and photos to get to over the next week - but for now family must come first - but just wanted to snap off a quick hello to all.....I have missed being connected so much - I must make it my new mission to figure out how to stay connected on the road without having to take out a second mortgage

Welcome back Sharon! We want to hear and see all about your trip. My best wishes to your mum to feel better soon. I know you can bring a smile to her face, you crack me up. Laughter is good medicine.

Steph, I would love to, but haven't made any plans beyond hoping to get myself to the factory and then the rally in October. Koa just had surgery on his elbow fracture and he needs plenty of various meds at different times and therapy three times a day and walking therapy three times a day and I think that goes on for weeks if not months. He is only home three days now so we are just a bit daunted by the level of care he needs and worried about his improvement.

Had a chance to catch up on the post reading...wow you all have been busy doing this and that....

TK - a new one will be so exciting when that time arrives.

It is just as exciting restoring an gently used one to....

What beautiful photos of your Grandchildren Carol.

Yak jokes - how do you find these things???

Brrr might be a bit chilly early Oct for yaking - calm waters only for me at that time of year...

Beside the weather on our trip we did not have very many opportunities to Kayak - either other events going on or the sea swells too high or the weather was terrible. We managed it once in three weeks!!!

We gave a new meaning to "hood ornaments" this trip

Will post as soon as I can on some photos - we have literally 1000's to go through...

Steph I still think you do the backwards trick with absolute precision second to none but you did have me a bit worried when you rammed the shore to pick up a mud pack for later use....

Hey Laura - there was a place along our travels that had instead of bumper cars - bumper boats and for some reason I thought of you and that you would have so much fun doing that - do you like bumper cars???

Carol that is such a shame about Koa - I do feel for you - it will be a lot of care for sure - you will do great and best wishes for a good recovery for him. Sometimes being so young they can heal very quickly with little or no complications. Taz and Haily send over dog wags and licks for Koa...and hope to meet him one day soon.

`G how have you been? Peter is doing much better on his new pump now and this week gets his Glucose 24hour sensor which should really improve his control and consequent sugar levels.

Lou I love that little Tank - where do you find these cool items...keep your fingers crossed - hopefully we will get the final green light tomorrow but then it still does not stop the neighbours from appealing to OMB AGAIN! But this time the are up against the Township and not us per se although it all relates to our land - which for some reason they give neighbours in this stupid Province of our more rights than the actual people that own the property - go figure.

Brock are you out there? how are your renovations coming???
