I'm toasting the western sisters this morning with a round of good karma for all you ladies takin' to the road, towing your silver abodes for the first time or for the hundredth. I can just feel the excitement in the air as you get ready to head out.

Lovely iris, Uluwene. That burst of spring color is just what the doctor ordered for my winter blues, along with "take 2 aspirin and keep away from children" Maybe the label should read: take 2 aspirin and send the kids out to play in some sunshine! Thanks for the humor, Carol.

Spring is in the Air in New England

Hi All,
Was out in the AS just hanging out looking at campgrounds and dreaming!

I can feel the warmth -- it's around the corner now!

Smile Feels like spring in Michigan too!! Tea anyone?

Hey Irish,
It feels that way here too! Lots of lovely walks the past week cause of the break in the weather... I was able to get lots of yard work done yesterday without even wearing a coat and we got around to putting a new mailbox and post too. Can't wait to get those flowers in around the base of it!! I need something tough that would trail over the brick base around the mailbox (full sun) and looks pretty, any ideas?

Tin Sista -- Are we living a duplicate life, or what? Last week when we got the big snow our mailbox post got cracked in half by the snowplow. That's the second time it was hit this winter. So we've got a new mailbox to put up too. But we have to wait for the the rest of the snow to melt and the ground to thaw a little.

We're in the spring stages of freeze at night, melt by day now. Can't wait to see some flowers poking out of the ground.

My suggestion for the mailbox climber? Clematis is a classic. The trick is to get shade over the base of the plant, and let it grow up into the full sun. It might take a year or two to take off. In the meantime, you could throw some morning glory seeds in the ground with it and they would be pretty this year.

p.s. I'll have a bit of that tea, with a little honey, and a couple ibuprofen on the side. I'm sufferin' from a mighty awful bronchial cold today!

My flowers are here!!! Yippeee!!!

We moved in a new (not really, it was built in 1927) house last year and I planted 1400 crocus in my small backyard...they're in full bloom, look cool all over the backyard but the pictures don't do it justice. I also planted about 200 Daffodils & 100 red tulips...daffys are starting to bloom tulips aren't quite yet. We had a great rain yesterday...so they are all happy!

Shari

Thanks for spring sunshine and posies, Shari. I just love the crocus!! They're usually the first sign of hope for a garden after a long hard winter.

That's a cute kitty in your pics too!

How nice to see the beautiful flowers. Our snow is starting to melt. No sign of blooms of any kind. Put on the strong breakfast blend fresh ground coffee.

You've got it, girl. I can just smell it finishing the brew cycle now. Come and get it!

And, here, have a few hot cross buns to go with.

ooo that looks soooo gooood Aria. May I?

Shari love the cat picture, she is leash trained? And I love all these spring flowers, nothing popping up here yet. I better get some spring flowers in for next year. I think our first blooms will be the lilac bushes and then most of my perrenials are summer flowers, since it's almost summer before I think seriously about yard work. Out for a drive today lots of low area standing water from the melt. The park looks like a pond right now. When the dogs run through the yard you see the water splash up. Time to walbernize. Tomorrow will be a warm day. We'll see...

Shari -- your yard is wonderful.

Shari,
I am pushing snow off my AS and you have a beautiful yard full of flowers.
I know spring has to be around the corner for us here in New England.

Irish.
