Hello everyone,
Kip and I just wanted thank you all for putting up with our "Strange Airstream", you made our baby feel right at home. Though it was very cold, it was sure fun sitting around a warm fire.

We met such a great group of people and can't wait to rally again!!!!
For all of you that fell in love with the little Airstream bird feeder with the night light, you can find them at Unique gifts, home and garden decor, and housewares! Items as low as $9.99 - Nothin' over $20 at Collections Etc.. I just went on the website today and they have them in stock.
The item number is 51115 and the discription is "Summer trailer retreat"

It was so nice to meet so many new friends.
Thank you all again, Kip and Monica.

We are home also, have to work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone, especially Milo (goin camping) and Paula (codybear) for putting up with everyone. However, next time please order warmer weather.

It was nice to put faces with the names.

Bill

Jan and I just got back to Phoenix. We had a great time! Thanks for letting a non CA join in. Like everyone said, the weather could have been warmer, but the people were very warm!

For those of us who couldn't make the rally, it's been much fun following your adventures--especially since we've been just as unexpectedly frozen! We knew the warmth of the folks would carry you through.
Love the photos and look forward to more.

Hi All~

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome at the rally and for all the great information. We feel like real Airstreamers already! (Even though we have 2 more weeks to wait.) What a great community this is, both in person and on the forums. Thanks Again,

Finncrew,
Jim & Leslie

Despite our broken front window on the way to the rally (thanks Inland RV, for helping us out in a pinch), and the ch-ch-ch-chilly w-w-w-wind, we had a fun adventure! Joshua Tree NP was breathtaking. Here's a few pictures to share...

Hot Rally, Warm People, Cold Weather

the weather was COLD, clear and a challenge. if you had a weakness in the heating system it became readily apparent. the folks attending were astounding. i'm a little short on rent money this month, but my mom say's we can use her basement anytime, if we want. pot luck rocked (all of them). i really liked the potato salad. the black tie event went like clock work. i've never seen such a large limo in all my life. the fire dancers were fantasic. i do believe we set a record for K9's and Felines attending a nor cal event. in the future, let's have the nekid table dances under a deployed awning. what can you say about the music? we had both kinds, country and western; the band(s) rocked. i'm thinking that these nor cal events have become so popular we may have to limit them to say, no more than 100 units, should we limit the number of mensa members attending? or continue to allow mensa members only? please, keep the nor cal handshake a secret, i've already seen the "balls", on ebay, please members, read the back of your ticket. and as you know, in the future, no one will be seated during the climatic ending of the rally (to disruptive) some members with problems were being treated onsite, i believe triage was space 171. i found the religous services sunday morning very uplifting, not to mention spiritual in nature.

we all shed a tearfull goodbye and well departed, together, but not together.

myself, i was a little behind schedule. just made the 10am flight from USMC Base Twentynine palms to Naval Air Station Oxnard. the cargo master was a little upset (i'd say a little over sensitive, but maybe he knew something we didn't) that the TV and AS had gained 800 pounds in just four days. upon closer inspection, it was revealed that crated artifacts from ancient indian burial mounds were to blame. so we just evenly distruted the weight across the hensley, and we were off. flight was a little bumpy, but all in all, tolerable. shout out to mr. and mrs. T, bold, very bold.

i had a message on my machine at home from a dr. clevage m.d., ron please contact him right away.

Eventhough it was burrish, the company was very warm. I can't wait til the next rally, in warmer temps of course.

The first pictures are of Yucca Valley and the snow. Yucca is about 20mins outside of 29Palms, we had to stop for a few and took this opportunity to let the dog see what snow was. He doesn't like it, too cold for his paws.

I guess this really doesn't count as a "sighting" as they were going home in the same direction as we were, but I still like pictures of Airstreams on the road. Looking good Str8strm!!!!

Home again, Home again, rig-a-jig-jig

Jwolf and I made it home in one piece after a 7 hour journey. Made a wrong turn in LA and and ended up in one heck of a wind storm on I-215. Saw 3 pickups with their bed tonneaus blown off, a softside semi with it's sides blown out, a mobile home blown on it's side, semis pulled off the road under overpasses and some other interesting sights. After a good sand-blasting we made to the 210 unscathed. Glad for the Airstream's aerodynamic qualities and the Hensley hitch.

Came home to a broken water main that froze in the 17 degree cold so no water in the house. I have a half tank of water in the AS, so I plugged it in and turned on the hot water heater and voila!...the pipe repair can wait!

Had a fantastic time at a great rally with the world's best people. The cold weather was made tolerable by the warm hearts. Here's a few pictures to keep you all entertained...more will follow.

I especially like the picture of the str8strms with Milo and Lucy all dressed up for the potluck...

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.... azflycaster... you may want to bring a chain saw for the FCU Cottonwood event… if we keep this cold run going....your bonfire should scare off the cold camp toes......if that doesn't work a warm belly of booze and food always serves well.....
