Woo hoo, can't wait to get there! My boss came through for me and let me have Friday off (saved my marriage too  ). Will be needing the day off too by them. I look forward to seeing every one out there. May bring our pooch too. He needs to learn that not everyone is out to get him....

Movies?
No one has mentioned showing movies in the evening at the rally. I do not have the equiptment to project, but we always view some on the laptop. Some titles that might be fitting for this rally are: - Ice Age
- Eight Below
- Snow Dogs
- Ice Harvest
- March of the Penguins

Neither snow nor cold nor.. Well...
We're packing up, and loading the larger coffee maker into the trailer, along with our survival gear..
Local weather folks still forecasting snow flurries near sea level for Friday, and we have a mountain pass to get over to get to I-5, plus Mapquest insists we take I-5 over Grapevine to I-210 (90 minutes shorter driving time than Bakersfield to Mojave..). By now, mere snow at Twentynine Palms is down on our list of concerns.. If we don't make it in Friday eve, don't give away the space for the weekend... We'll just be boondocking in some truckstop waiting for roads to clear. Thank goodness for backup Margarita Balls!! Wonder what hot chocolate and brandy mixed in Margarita Ball would taste like?? We picked up an extra bundle of firewood just in case as well...

gee's i just got an email from a friend of mine at the travel channel, there going to send over a camera crew for some backdrop shots for a travel log the channel is doing. so john, bring your stylish survival gear, and i'm having to rethink all 12 of my smile pocket shirts for white color balance, contrasted with aluminum. i'm switching my belt buckle to black hills gold. i'm thinking the rose and green gold is a better match with snow. does anyone know if were supposed to bring firewood, a table and chairs? on another note, if i'm a little late, looting indian burial mounds in the snow, really can slow a guy down, so don't be concerned if i don't arrive till 2:15pm instead of 2pm.

Weather report from Str8stream
Str8stream called and said it in the 60's sunny and warm.
Most weather reports with the really low numbers I've seen were for the low desert. We will be in the high desert.
