Rollin on the River: formerly Moraine View FALL

A change in location of the Fall Moraine View rally was requested; so, here it is.
The rally will be held the week end of October 12th at the Thomson Causway in Thomson Illinois (COE Park). We will be in the River Birch loop which at this time all sites have been booked. There are 4 loops consisting of about 130 sites. Suggestion: book another site and watch for cancellations.

2 1/2 MONTHS TO "ROLLIN ON THE RIVER"

To get to the campground: Il 84 and Casey's, follow the signs. When you get to the check in booth you will be making a 180 turn and follow the road and down the hill.
Things to do: camp, eat, camp, eat, bike, hike, watch river, Poopy's, windmill, fish market (smoked fish, crackers and BEER), Galena (about 40 miles), Ice Cream, eat,relax, visit. HAVE A GOOD TIME

We are 5 weeks out for the NEW adventure. Time to start thinking FOOD.
Friday "dogs on the fire" (I'll bring); needed: buns, condiments, finger food ; chips, dip, relishes, cookies, beans, chili or ????
Saturday: the usual pot luck
FIRE WOOD; for those that don't want to cook. There is a place as one turns down road into park. The best wood, good and dry. $$$ less than CG and Casey's or bring own.



PLEASE:list your site and what you plan on bringing. Will need E Z ups I have 2

I'll make up a small batch of authentic Cincinnati Chili for Coney dogs (I know, were not in Ohio, but I can't get too far from my roots). We'll bring one 10x10 EZ Up. Oh, and we're booked for site #94.

We'll make up a small batch of Texas Style Baja Chili (not spicy hot) to go with coneys. We'll bring some shredded cheese, chopped sweet onions, and mustard to go on the coneys.

Mike, do you need us to bring our WeberQ or does "dogs on the fire" mean we're going to roast hot dogs over the open fire this time?

We'll bring Italian beef and buns for Saturday.

We're in Site 081 on the RIVE loop. Arriving Thursday and leaving Monday.

We'll bring the pop up we had at Moraine View and the Clam Quick Set like Mount'n Man's in case we need it, too. It will be a great spot for playing "Cars!"

Shall I bring the playing cards with the big numbers? ;-)

Will bring sauerkraut for hot dogs, potato salad(?) and hot Tex mex chili. Pepto on the side.
We have a a large screen tent, Northern Breeze, with side flaps we can bring too.
Anyone up for a game of Cranium? Will bring one of our collapsible table too.
Not sure for pot luck yet. Maybe deviled eggs and deer stew? Maybe homemade bread. I have been baking a lot of artisan style breads lately.
We will be there Thursday to monday. Maybe Wednesday. Can’t wait to see you all again.
