Mississippi Palisades has a lot of room and they are not closing due to high water

Chris, did you NOT get the e-mail from the Core ? I got e-mail and a call. The park closes Friday @ 0900 and will not reopen till at least 10/17. You should also get instructions on how the refund will be handled.

We have cancelled for this year. Too far to drive without reservations. Ranger still gets car sick. I am really bummed out not to see all of you again.

Set up at Scott County Park Incahias campground. There are plenty of spots here.
We spent last night at Johnson Sauk Trail Park by Kewanee. Beautiful park. Too bad they didn’t have availability for the weekend.

Will prob. ar. around noon Thur. leave Mon. Penny will be here Fri. as prior commitment with Ld lecture at Oswego school dist. Fire wood is loaded maybe enough for Thur. thru Mon. if not mud in wood lot may load more. Penny says scalloped potatoes for Sat. What are plans for Fri. nite? Hot dogs?. Bill

You missed it, this AM while standing around the fire with our coffee it started SNOWING !! Out of 16 units, 8 showed. That was good as at the last moment we had to relocate due to the Mississippi flood. Also, we had 10-30 mph winds NW and temps in th30's. Now that is real camping except for the AS.
Hope to see everyone again in June for the Spring Moraineview. Go, Jack.

Got a group pic before folks started leaving... Another great rally, thanks to Mike & Dana for putting it all together, especially with all the last minute flooding brouhaha!

A BIG thanks to all that attended. It wasn't Dana and I that made the rally, it was those that came.

After all the confusion due to the flooding we finally found a place that had sites together, but there was NO reservations, it was first come. We (Ken & I) tried many CG's and all had several sites but spread out or no services. Palisades had 16 sites scattered and only 3 with electricity.
Our Sunday night ended with Bill and Penny; Roger and Alice; and Brian and Joann. Due to more rain and cold, they came to our house for camp leftovers.
A big thanks to all that could and couldn't make it. See you in the spring at Moraine View.

A Big Thank's to Mike and Dana for a Great Rally. A Thank You to all who brought fire wood ! It helped with the 30 deg.temps. Thanks to all with Ez up and tarps.It helped protect us from wind,sleet,rain and Snow! And we can't forget the"Food" ,i don't need to eat until the Holiday's. A wonderful Event and location. FYI" Today I got my issue of "Big River Magazine" There was a story where a 7 foot Boa was captured in the Mississippi at Fulton Illinois. It was caught on the road to Lock and Dam 13; that is the road by the fish market.
It was taken to a rehab center in Cedar Rapids Ia.
