Gang, we've had a miscommunication, the misses and I. Cathy reserved site #42 (not 39). It's the first time that a married couple has not listened to each other.
Great to hear that you're coming Sue! The place has definitely gone to the dogs. The martini making ensemble will be there. I only need a martini maker now.
Let the good times roll!
Charles, Cathy, Houston, Raven and Mambo.

Well...let's see if we can fill in the rest of the spaces thru 42 so Charles isn't alone... and Cathy isn't in the doghouse!
Seriously, you may be able to change your reservation with a phone call (1-888-NMPARKS), if you want Space #39.

Heron Lake - Blanco Campground
Well...I got some pictures from John this week. Looks like a nice State Park... once all the white stuff melts! The sites are level, semi-wooded and generously sized. I have posted a couple in an album for all too see...enjoy!
Shari
PS It's not too late to sign-up ~ June will be here before you know it! Here's the link to the reservation site

I received an email from John this morning that I thought I'd share...
Quote:
I was over in Blanco yesterday and sites 26 & 28 have the best views. The campground goes down hill from these sites and the views of the surrounding mountains and buttes are obstructed by the trees as you get lower within Blanco.
Just thought that maybe you could let the folks know this and some may want to move up there. (or new folks can be filled-in) It's truly beautiful to sit up there in the morning and see the mountains and buttes.
The weather is awesome!
John

We Were There!
Hello Everyone - We were at the Willow Creek CG yesterday(Sunday) on our return trip from Zion Canyon, and met John (He says "Hi" again). He is going to be a great camp host and your Rally is in a lovely spot. We walked all of Blanco CG (it was closed) and the sites are well spaced and most have some shade. Also look to be easy to access and park in. Wish we could come - we didn't know our schedule when we talked to John on site, but now that we are home and looking at calendar, we see that Price is playing a wedding that weekend. Oh, well, can't complain with trip we just took, but sure would like to meet some AS Forum groupies. If you are looking for some good fishing (and Heron isn't producing) and don't mind a bit of a drive, you might check Navajo State Park about 90 miles west of Chama (suppose to be a trophy fishing area with Kokansee Salmon one of many types of fish.
Have a great time! Leigh

espresso machine
Just like the tag line for american express, Don't leave home without it. the espresso machines are a part of me. I now have 4 (an espresso machine for every occassion ) from a 3group fully automatic, down to my little stove top model that makes a dopio. have taken that one backpacking and camping thru the grand tetons, my wifes family is from north dakota, south dakota and missouri, they have accused us of being the crazy ones from California, but when they spotted me at 5:30 in the morning pulling shots of espresso, and foaming milk. it was all but confirmed. so be it. was never late for the fishing and I did not need a nap. my motto is simple, never trust a man or woman who doesn't appreciate a great cup of coffee.

M,
It's nice to know that a decent cup of brew can be had even in NM! I hear it snows there at certain times of the year.

the trip
Barbara and I are looking forward to the trip to new mexico we will be stopping on the way thru arizona, to see the grand canyon. we have never been thru that part of the country and we are really looking forward to this rally. and to put faces to all the names.will post pictures of our argosy soon, just waiting for all replacement rubber and new striping and decals to arrive so I can button up exterior, then finish the laminate floor installation. was able to do sub floor replacement in back with one piece by cutting all bolts and rivets, with sawzall, then blocking up body and lowering the frame by cranking up front tongue, worked pretty well. the front had to be done in 3 pieces ( right front left front and door area. still came out real solid.

fun and games?
Hi ya'all CatStream here, sounds like we have lots of people coming to the rally, now I'm wondering what ya'all think we will do when we get there? At the 1st Mystic Springs Rally the agenda was no agenda and it seemed to run flawlessly.
Every event went off with out a hitch and right on schedule.
Can't wait to see ya'all there. The first time is always so fun, putting the names with the faces.

just caught another post about a rally going on in yosemite national park, with a bunch of southern california streamers (probably lakers fans) so I am driving over today and visit. think I will wear my kings team jacket so as not to be mistaken for a defector. Sacramento kings, western conferance champions, pending world champs. just give us the ring

Mountain air - dogs - at least one cat - coffee - homebrew - fellow Airstream'rs - fishing - hmmm. Sounds too good to be true!! Count us in!!! (If you allow folks from Texas).. ..
I've reserved site #45 for June 19th for 7 days -- Wife (Pat) and myself (Don) are looking forward to the gathering. (two dogs, too)
We'll be coming from Flagstaff area - wonder if there are others that might be interested in a Mini-caravan?
Look for the Orange Monster!!

Taking over...
Any more takers? Plenty of room, the loop's have empty. We need to set up plans for one or more evenings of pot luck's, social/happy hour or whatever. Me, personally, believe that the home brew should be every night. An Open House interest anyone besides me?
