How about a hot pink (or white) feather boa trim?

sounds cute

Hi! Sounds cute, but I am wondering what would happen if it gets wet?? Do you think the boa would stand up to the weather??? I am thinking about sequins around the silver blocks...hmmm....more bling!!! LOL

Other "fringe ideas" from the "if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing" category:
  • I'd try the boa & see...if you just tack it on, you could replace or remove it if didn't hold up. The feather-boa I am thinking of is pretty cheap, so if it doesn't last more than a season, oh well. I think the effect would be worth it...but that's me.
  • What about the silver Christmas garland stuff? Might be hard to find this time of year, (ya think?) but it would make a nice trim if you have some laying around...
  • 20's flapper friinge...It comes in white & probably silver.
I love the flag/banner...just trying to put it over the top!

oooo lala

I love the Christmas garland in silver idea!!!!!! Wow! I will have to go and see if I can find that in one of the craft stores. I think that would hold up in weather. Can't you see me sewing it on??? Yikes! Could be a challenge!!!

Thanks for that great idea!!! It will be really glitzy with all of the good ideas!

Good Job Lou!!! That paper twist stuff comes in a foil look. Try a party supply shop for garland etc.

You and Larrita have a lot of fun @ the rally and safe travel. See you in Aug!!

sue

ps whip stitch the garland!

party store

Thanks for the tip. We have one of those party supply stores over near the mall, so I can stop there and see about the garland stuff. Hadn't thought of silver paper twist either. You are full of great ideas!!

Kudos!! You all have some cool ideas!!

I'd love to find a way to make a rivette flag for the trailer with Rosie's image by Carol, Jamie, and Sharon...you know the solstice image or even the we can tow it one. I wonder if there's a way to do it on nylon.

nylon

A Rosie flag would be way cool! If you have the image you can take it to someone who does silkscreening and get it enlarged and silkscreened on nylon I believe. You have to make the flags to give to them tho, unless you are looking at buying the flags. That sounds like big bucks!!!

If you find an image that you want to try, I will take it to my friend and ask about how much it would cost to enlarge it and get it silkscreened onto something.

I just bought a couple of yards of silver ripstop nylon at JoAnn Fabrics. That might be cool. We found out that they don't want to do less than 15-16 once they get the pattern cut.

Flags

Yes, that is one of ours. I made the flag part and Larrita did the grommets. We auctioned one and I have a few more left over. The minimum for the Air decal that was put on was 12 pieces. I thought they looked really good. Sorry you missed the craft. Larry was putting in the grommets on Sat. morning at the picnic table.
