How is this for a Rally Specific Logo Big on the back of a T- Shirt?

And as Jamie suggested - we could also have just writing on the front with "You Tow Girl!" -or leave blank on the front if anything.

I do like the square logo for our Main logo to identify us - but each gathering we could have a Rally Shirt - incorporating the main logo each time in a different way.

Note the original size is 10 X 10 inches so It may come out small here to load onto the web.

Let me know if I am close or on the right track here to something or not....

We could either see what we could get to have a bunch of shirts made up - or I could just provide the logo (s) and people could order their own through a specific apparel/marketing web site which we have a bit of time we could research some and then post here - right down to coffee mugs or etched glass.

Jamie and I thought it would be a good idea once we settle on a logo (s) that we guinnie pig a site and order something to make sure the logo shows up well and the company does a good job and their product is good.

Fire away your suggestions.

I'm IN

Even if the dates shift a bit, I'm in.

I am going to call Airstream later today and get information on a tour and seminar, although I am a bit concerned that if it conflicts with the International there won't be a whole lot of people there.

I'll put in my reservation by end of week. Lets go for 20+ trailers there... and if you can't come in your Airstream, come any way you can.

Paula

PS: I'm not one for rules and regulations... but I'm wondering if anyone has a husband/gentleman friend who wants to attend... I'd suppose that they'd run like rabbits at the mere thought of being so outnumbered and outclassed, but what is the general consensus? It's all good with me, though I am only planning on bringing my sister Karen.

Could be fun. If I take the northern route to get to the rally, I'll look for wineries, and wine stores when I'm coming through that area.

My sister Karen lives in Akron Ohio - northeastern Ohio... and there are some up by Lake Erie in the Ashtabula area... I'll get her working on gathering WINE - she'll drive down to Jax and join us there. (She's not an Airstreamer YET, but it's creeping up on her.) Ohio is also a major manufacturer of Maple Syrup. She gets it direct from a farmer who makes it, and freezes it by the gallon, so I'm sure she could bring some along and would sell it for just what it cost her. (and donate some for a pancake breakfast!)

2007 International Dates

I just checked. The International Rally officially opens
June 27, 2007 in Perry GA
The vintage parade is
June 26, 2007

We break camp on the 24th so I think we are good to go.

I did a Mapquest and it says the distance from Jackson Center to Perry is 675 miles. That is a minimum of two days towing, and that is pushing it. (I tow at night if it's a full moon, on interstate with light traffic, especially if starting at 3:00 am will get me around a congested metropolitan area before the local traffic get horrible. Unfortunately it's first quarter moon on the 22nd, so I'm in daylight mode only.) The route includes Cincinnati Ohio (crossing the Ohio River so there are no back road options) and Atlanta Georgia. The Mapquest route goes through Atlanta, and I would absolutely add another 20 miles to take either beltway route around Atlanta! Having seen that traffic, I'd want to hit the beltway at 4:00 AM!

I am assuming that June 24 (Sunday) will be a breakfast and break camp day so that anyone wanting to head to Perry would have at least 5 or 6 hours of daylight to tow in (250 miles). Jackson Center is literally a few miles off of I-75 and access if very easy. Once on that it's an almost straight shot - interstate all the way to Perry Georgia. Anyone who wants to participate in the Vintage Parade would almost have to leave Saturday or at the crack of dawn Sunday, but for the rally itself it should work just fine.

If you are considering going from Jackson Center to the International - check out the "Chatenooga Choo-Choo" (I hope it's still open & under that name). I stayed there about 8 years ago. It's a hotel/railroad museum in Chatenooga - AND they have full hookup RV sites with room service, a nice variation to dabble in for a night.

Thanks so much Paula for all this great info!

Special props and thanks to Shari 'cause she gave me the inside scoop on what questions to ask the campground owner! Thanks for keeping us straight about the international too! Talk about a big party to organize!!

Good Morning Gang,

Sharon, you and Jamie have done an excellent job on the logo. I agree that the original should be our overall logo with a different T-Shirt each year. Wow! I love the summer solistice emblem. My vote would be to get some made up (Men's Large or Women's XL for me,just in case you need our size). Also the idea of getting a proof is the way to go.

Paula, (my opinion) if there is one person at Airstream that is willing to give the tour that's all we need. It might even be better without all the workers. Thanks for your help in setting this up for us.

Steph, thanks for all that you did to insure we have a place for us to kick back and have a good time. It's exciting seeing it finally coming together.

Let's go Rivettes,

Vickie

To try and catch up on a couple of points.....

R&R's in relation to Hubbies - no offence - but if they come along then it may really defeat the whole concept and purpose of the Rivettes IMHO.

I love my guy dearly - and we do everything together! But he has to have his own things to do as I.

Sort of like the days playing slow pitch - he had his mens team I had my womens' teams and WE had the mixed team - worked out great.

There are so many Rallies and functions out there that are "Mixed" I am sure he would love to go to some of them.

But I think if "one" shows up - we could give him a bonified role - of cooking our meals, dumping our poopers, making the beer runs and practicing being invisiable

International - as Shari mentioned - with an event that size - the organizers and key players will be down there long before the 24th even - So I guest the best would be to check with Airstream which I now the JCO crew is on it I'm easy for the date which brings up another point.

I see this program all about the "Rivettes" so to encourage more people to come out - I think it is a great idea to announce come with or without your trailer. There is nothing more to boost someones confidence to see women "doing it" - towing that is Perhaps those that show up without one we could help with a personalized Rivette Lesson towing 101.

If I have to will buy a silver sleeping bag - put my big red numbers on my Grey Yukon - snap a few rivettes into the door panels, toss a portapoti and 5 gallon water jug in there and call it "anticipation"

Another thought would be cool - if Shari arranged a "Rivette Tail" to the Vintage parade - and have us oldies follow in - then of course those with newer models - can recieve a grand escort into the International - almost makes you wish you were retired NOW....with all the time in the world to travel and have fun......well that was a quick fleeting moment - back to reality...not that I - just busy at life...

Bring on the Spring!

Ohio Wineries site

OHIO is known for their wines and there are many wineries sprinkled throughout the state. We have quite a number around the NE side of Lake Erie and there are about 3 or 4 right here in Lorain County, and several around the islands of Lake Erie.
Here is the map of all of them: Ohio wines and wineries courtesy of the Ohio Wine Producers Association
There is one that is really close to Poor Farmers RV Campground. Winery at Versailles, Versailles, OH I doesn't look too far away. Can't vouch for the wine though as we have never been there.

Could be fun!

Get Acquainted/Ice Breaker

OK Rivettes we have a place, a date, and t-shirts, so let's get to some of the fun stuff. I propose that we each bring a bottle of our favorite wine from our teen to early twenty years. Also bring a bottle of our present favorite. We can try sips (that will probably be all we will want of this favorite) of each, tell some stories and get to know each other. If you're not a wine drinker bring your favorite drink then and now. How about it, girls?

I'm still good for an Ohio Wines tasting too! I think I'll check out the Winery at Versailles just for good sport (how can I pass on something called Buckeye Blush or Olde Fort Port?) and a chance to collect a tasting glass or two for my collection.

Hey, you guys are good at this travel research stuff, keep it coming!

You might consider having each rallier bring a favorite local wine produced from her home area to share in a tasting--you'll end up with tastes from all over the mid-west and east and a variety of wine types to boot. Just a suggestion. ~G

Oh yeah! I like that idea too. There's a winery near me in MA that I've never even visited. Sounds fun...

Okay I am seriously in trouble in this department. I do not remember the wines cause I drank too much.

When I was young wine was for pussies - So I will bring some Southern Comfort - that was for the next level up from pussies - the Jack Daniels was for the hard core women.

But I do have a solution - we have a winery in our basement - so if you want a bit more than a sip - I could a little better than that.......

Great ideas Girls.

Pick your choice:

Zinfandel Blush

Merlot

Chardonney

Majority wins and I will put the order in - and haul her out with the Rally Labels to boot.

Let's see... It all sounds great, but since it's a summer rally my vote goes for a cool Chardonnay.

Smile Other places of interest from the website of the campground

Hi Georgia and Lou,
Hope you'll both consider coming to the rally--it would be so nice to meet you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I was thinking if some aren't interested in wineries there are many local places of interest as well as Jackson Center. These were from the website of the campground.
Not to mention that we can walk, fish, and hang out at the campground if we'd rather not travel around.
Museum of Old NW Frontier (Lockington)
Lockington Dam
Piqua Historical Area and Johnson Farm
Piqua Historical Museum

Fort Piqua Hotel

Piqua Linear Park Bike Trail

Canal Place

Kiser Lake State Park

Lake Loramie State Park

Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

Just food for thought.

SSR logo

I saw the logo for the first time! PERFECT!!! It's evident we have an air-teest
or two among us!!! The colors are really great and the logo can be used without dates. OH! One year at the Midwest someone, Zamboni, made up some sharp silver trailer shaped signs - on wire yard stakes - "Midwest Rally 2003" with our screen names. I just add the next years numbers. Now wouldn't this logo be stellar (pun intended) on a stake in front of each Airstream!!! hummmm.
