Wish we could make it too Lou. I know you will have a great rally! You and Larry would make wonderful hosts.
Yes I think we all ought to be able to find a few pictures. We went over to where Vicki seasons with her Airstream and got to see her stomping grounds.
I shall try to get some photos up shortly.

Happy labor Day Weekend Everyone! Now Lou and Larry are having their rally in Ohio. These pictures are from last weekend when the Rivettes Went Hawaiian in Stanwood Michigan.
Vicki and Jeff were great hosts at River Ridge, their home away from home when they are not traveling on the road, and Suz and Ike treated us to afternoon pontoon rides with their lovely water craft on the Muskegan River.

The first point of order was adorning Betty Lou with full grass skirts! Meanwhile there was time to sit and enjoy a beverage, maps to be checked, bikes to ride, and dogs to be walked.

Steph made a big hit with with all the bubbles and I had just as much fun watching. Sam was being a "little monkey" and ever so funny and cute. Sharon's and Peter's dogs Taz and Hailey are the best dogs and acted the perfect sled team for Danielle one afternoon. Now you see me there with the "What's up with this?" gesture and my feet in a pail? Well bugs LOVE me and I had no less than 25 bites on my feet and ankles from being sandal footed the night before even though I had repellent slathered on generously. The girls were doctoring me and trying to relieve the itch which was driving me crazy!
Hey what's that? Sam with a Canada hat and playing with a Canadian Mountie bobblehead? Afterall we are International.
There were so many beverage treats on hand. Ike brought out French Vanilla coffee and flavored cream in the morning. I know I am spoiled now, my absolute new favorite. Straws with honeycomb flamingos and umbrella straws and flamingo goblets with fresh pineapple chunks and cherries made the crowning touch to Mai Tais and Margaritas.

Lou send a hearty hello from me to all. I think I shall stop coming home entirely and just rally full-time! Sound like a plan? Actually if I leave now perhaps there will be enough sloppy joe left... Wish I could Lou. Have fun and take lots of pictures for us.

Every Luau needs a pig for roast pork and River Ridge was no exception. Rather a pretty pig, don't you think? Of course the Luau was followed by a dance that went well into the quiet hours. There was even a little dancing on the pontoon! What was that song?

Never enough time to do all you would want to do but we made a valiant effort and had a heck of a time. My thanks to all of you for all your work and special kindnesses and gifts and making our time together so very special.

Now that is a Classy Establishment!!!!
Wow nice pictures Carol - was I at the same gathering
Okay now it is I who have been elected to put you all straight as to the reason for this un-official gathering of Rivettes without a blanket invitation
We felt that it was high time that some people stepped up to the plate and made our Rivettes concept OFFICIAL!!!!
So here it is The Five of us stepped up to the plate and elected ourselves as your NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS...
Now as it stands - we have not subsequently appointed ourselves into any positions yet - as you can see Vickie and Carol are fighting over what position they want
and Steph and Sue the same -
boy those Mich Gals
I just had to step in and take the bull by the horn.
So I have decided the next meeting to appoint us into the specific positions shall be in the far north of MI State -any objections!!! thought not!!!!
Thus our first order of business was to prepare our new coats........
Just havin a bit of fun with you all..... it was just an impromtu thing and Peter and I happened to be going on vacation at the same time due to a change in our plans from the LPPI rally - so it worked out great for us for an idea to unfold resulting in a great no wait rephrase a spectacular!!! Weekend!!!!
Some of our pics to follow.....I will also have to catch up on my Flight of the Lady Bug thread - oh and I understand that a fellow (former) countryrivette has joined the ranks - Connie - I am a limie born and breed!!!! and will catch up with you soon....
To Vickie, Jeff, Danielle & Barney, Dave Steph & Sam, Carol and Brad, Baron & Orie, Sue and Ike & the S.S. PONTOON!! thanks so much for making our latter part of our vacation a memory of a lifetime!!! hugs all round and tink tink tink tink.........

so to begin.....lets set the scene....
What a beautiful Resort this is..
After we came in on the wednesday night after 2 days of rain up at Sleeping Bear Dunes we thought we were in for a nice time with the weather. We came in to a fabulous lightening spectacular scene coming down Hwy131 and that is when I wished I had either Vickies or Carols camera - I just have to get me a new camera!!! Well I will leave you with the imagination. We just managed to get in and get all the stuff at the front of the trailer to the back so we could get in the door and pow we got pummeled with hard Rain....
It was like the Long Long Trailer opening.....but then the knock on the door and it was Vickie our amazing hostess!!! You are the best Girl!!
The next morning we opened the door to this...
Thought I'd died and gone to trailer park heaven!!! especially after listening to the Troubs that night before bed....
Our next day was the threat of terrible severe storms that rashed through several places in MI Yikes....
Our only decorations we came with.....wish she was all polished up - nope I wish we had the innards, and all the services in the Lady Bug - I felt a bit out of place with all these posh big fully serviced units - but it was nice to see Friday roll around when the Airstreams started to invade the Park - Betty Lou II was just telling me it was kind of lonely for her....
Cup Cake (Sue and Ikes beauty looked quite grand Sunday morning)
And the morning mist to lift the day was promising for only our 3rd day of sun for the whole holiday....but we are not complaining - at least the tornado did not touch down in Standwood
Yes I too can actually get up early if I have not been drinking all night - was on my best behaviour

I"m laughing and green with envy and enchanted with all the different homes away from home that you ladies have! Danielle, you look like you are having such fun with your two high-steppin' trotters! They looked like their tails must have been wagging a mile a minute to show their pleasure Sue, your houseboat is dreamy and the river must be heaven. All the photos were super. Thanks, all, for sharing your good times. Carol, are you thinking about Can Opener after New Years? Maybe you could lead a Rivettes Caravan down to the gulf, picking up sisters as you go. Michelle is signed on, and Rebel Beck is towing herself from Oxford--so she'll have to inducted! Here's to the new "Board of Directors"! ~G

And we even had time to play with the Dogs too - (sorry Carol I did not have a chance to take any of Baron or Orie....Although I wanted to run and grab a camera to take a picture of Baron who had just got up on your dinette and moved the curtains so he could see us all having a good time over at Vickies - but instead I told Brad before you saw and had a fit ) I got brownie Points with Brad for Saving his life and his dog Baron
Even Vickie found time to walk little Barney - what a sweetie he is.. My too were funny - not very often on leads or tethers for that matter - I tossed a blanket on the ground and they both jumped on it for their morning chomp..
I know one young lady that was pretty scared of large dogs and after this weekend I am sure Danielle feels so much more at ease....the next thing you will see at the next Board meeting Danielle our honorary Board Member will be giving lessons on dog sled mushing!@!!!
Hey Carol jump in with pics of your boys...
That is it for my pics Steph, Vickie and Sue your turn....

LOL! Nice pictures and some very funny things as well Sharon. Gotta love your photoshopping. Oh and Sharon, remember now, you must keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times.
G. that sounds like a good idea. WOW Rebel Beck You Tow It Girl! YEA!!! Not sure if I want to go South so early in the year, driving back into a snow storm once I hit Ohio was a big shock to my system! However perhaps we can just stay out until Memorial Day and I can name a few ladies that might just love that even better.
