Yes, thanks Paula for your work on getting us into AS. Friday should be good for me. I'm planning on getting in on Thursday.

And thanks to Tin Sista too for getting all the arrangements at the campground. Sounds like it'll be just perfect!

Let's DO it!

Hi all. Here's as much as I got... the tour takes place DAILY - at 2pm... and we can come on the standard tour any day. I'd suggest FRIDAY since most of us will be there. I did ask if they'd scheduled anything special for us and "Jean at the front desk" was supposed to call me back between 3 and 4 pm... but hasn't yet. I will pursue it tomorrow, but MEA CULPA I should have kept after this weekly from the time first discussed the Rally.

I think we ought to all wear red bandanas on our heads for the tour - and I can get them if you'd like. Takers?

Paula

Oh, btw I'm going to arrive SUNDAY or MONDAY... so bad news, I can't bring the crabmeat for She Crab Soup - it is best FRESH! Freezing it ruins the texture and much of the taste and old shellfish is a big nono. If I can find a good fishmonger in the Columbus to Lima area I'll buy it locally on Wednesday but don't count on it. (Don't even say that I could use "sea legs" ... ptoooie! That's for cheap Chinese buffets only!)

I will make meatloaf though, and bring some fine VA wine.

Tour on Friday sounds great. Thanks Paula. I will wear a red bandana, it was on my list to try to find fabric and make one. But I was thinking around the campfire and for the picture. I want to see how you all wear them first before I hit JC... I heard about your meatloaf and it sounds yummy!

Steph thanks for coordinating with the campground. I'm hoping for dry weather! I'll just be following you and Vicki so I won't get lost in the campground, again.

Awwuuuuhhh Yeah Paula you justs made my DAY!

There is just something about taking an airstream down to its innards that leaves you the feeling - ya gotta see the factory!

Friday is great for me - I am hoping to leave Wednesday but have the back up day as Thursday.

if I miss the gals heading in the Caravan then I will be doing it solo all the way.

I feel for you Tin Sista - no way to get out earlier - can't grovel with the Honey???? Real kudos for all the arrangements Baby - I will feel a bit silly with a pull through with my little 19x7 footer

So besides the wine what can I bring??? - sorry Ladies I will not have any facilities in the trailer - just a rolling tin/dome/tent with a couch (hopefully) or I may be springing one of the matresses from the excella on the floor. Problem with that is - once I get down I will never get back up.

I sure hope I don't sleep all weekend - I am so *&^%%$ tired right now and have a good 5 days solid work on the trailer to get her ready.

But I am really getting excited now. Too Bad Annie could not get out of work - we could have had a hoot the two of us in a half empty - make that totally empty trailer....

I have a vent and a brand new skylight now - very very happy....

Steph, leave Thursday night and sleep during the normal hours. You'll be glad you did! We'll be putting chocolate in your mouth when you are catching zzzs at the campfire and waiting to see your expression when you wake up.

Sharon we ought to be able to have you hook up somewhere along the line. We have to go talk to Jamie or get those early bird caravanners to sleep later on Wednsday.

FRIDAY 2pm TOUR!

I just spoke to Jean and Jeff at Airstream. We'll join the standard tour, and Jeff will do a 15 minute overview seminar on some of the following topics:
  • Axle care and maintenance - greasing your hubs, brake maintenance, properly torqued lug nuts or lug bolts
  • Sealing leaks - proper sealants and techniques (how not to make a huge mess)
  • any other maintenance issues you'd like to discuss
(I propose we bring him FOOD/wine and bribe him for more general info.)

If you have topics you'd like to have discussed, please e-mail me quickly so I can send it on to him.

Paula

PS: there is little to no manufacturing going on by friday afternoon which means the noise level is much lower and the units left sitting on the line can be toured!

Wow we are special... Thank you Paula! I do have a few questions but will fall under the categories you oulined.

Oh and if anyone wants fabric or parts you can pick that up then too. I never get out of the shop without an armload. Thank heavens I finally passed on the dominoes and the flask.

Got my shirts and mug today. Girls you did a super job on those. I love the graphics. Thanks alot!

You guys are great! There's been no arguing or needing any lucrative moderation. Looks like I'm going to have to cancel adding the streetside awning.

Carol has been visiting over on the Moraine View thread so it's my turn to look in here. It would be fun to be a fly on the wall at your rally (but not of the Tortelli male variety). For the funtimes and planning acumen displayed, it sounds like y'all can be the perpetual all-regions AIR Forums rally coordinators from now on. I'll pass around a big dose of karma for your 'We can do it!' attitude. Wishin' a safe time for all -- great going!

Hi All,

A big thank you to all of you out there that have done so much hard work behind the scenes to make this first rally a success. Paula, sorry to take so much time getting back to you on the bandanas. I tried to find mine and Danielle's but with no success. So IF the offer is still open to bring a couple extras I will pay you when I see you.

We head to River Ridge tomorrow and will be there until I pull out on Wednesday morning. Danielle and I did the majority of our errands for rally supplies today. So I think we are set.

I hope Ohio is ready for us because ready or not here we come. See everyone soon.

Vickie

Oh, I am so envious! All you sistahs have a FANTASTIC time, and maybe I can come in the MH next time (if you allow "us MH people" in, that is ). We are desperately trying to get our relatively new acquisition 310 MH ready for a trip from Arkansas to Virginia in July, so it's nowhere NEAR ready to hit the road (Brad is replacing steering stuff this week and next, for example).

Missiouri next year? Or a splinter group at the Branson rally this October? I'll bring some muscadine wine AND juice from Arkansas grapes either way!

Have an awesome time! I'll be there in spirit!

Susan

Hi Susan,

You would most certainly be welcomed! We would love to add another to our ranks. It would be great to have you join us next year. As far as I know there has not been any definite plans made for next year. Please feel free to join in and help us plan it.

I wish you good luck with your new addition. Have a great time on your trip and post about your adventures.

Looking forward to meeting you in the future,

Vickie (Mrs. Towdaddy)

....I got brake lights, I got running lights, I got side markers, I got brakes and I even got a license plate light.

Tomorrow the clearance lights will go in, break away switch, battery box drawer - On Peters list

My list is the compounding the back cone, install the Airstream Plates. Pick the last two windows and vulkum the 4 side windows. Parbon the roof main panel and any gaps in the upper seams. Then move to replacing the rub rail and installing the tire carrier. Seal up the compartment drip rails. That should take the better part of the day.

I'm going on a road trip SOLO and with my little LadyBug - light my fire!

Still a toss up if I bring one of my girls with me???? I am thinking of bring Taz - she is a really good dog and the only one that Listens! - She can be pretty intimidating to a stranger who walks up to the car when I am with her too! which is what I would like. I would have someone to talk to - instead of talking to my self! Problem with that is after 8.5 hours I am bound to start answering myself!

Susan I got a great idea for you. Rent a heavy duty tow truck and haul your new to you 310 on down to the rally as a TV and rig set up.

I love the old Airstream MOHO's, Argosy ones tool and came very close to picking up a little one last winter. I still think one day we will end up with one.

It would be really great to have you join us. I have not made it to the first one and can not wait to hear of a second one - WHY the heck are we waiting until next year - what happened to the Fall or a mini trip to the south somewhere in the winter - Come on you gals winter towing will make a man out-of-ya.

Paula the tour is A-One thanks for all the arrangements I got a bottle with your name on it - red or white??? In fact what do you all prefer???
