Hey Sharon, long time no see. You are a restoration wizard. Lady Bug is impressive. I am looking forward to seeing the progress. Traveling into another country for a short rally with a vintage unit new to you and in progress of stabilizing is a bit disconcerting. I know you will be past that point in no time with your past fast track record! You had her pretty for the open house, that's for sure. I loved your appetizer and it was fun cooking together for the afternoon. Thanks for bringing your home made wine. It was good! I'll post the last leg of our rally later. Your narrative and pictures are great. I will have to go back and take my time with it, since we were posting the same time.

The Northern Ohio rally will be the weekend of July 20th and you are always welcome to join us there too!
Larrita says..."What happened to the idea that what happened at the rally stays at the rally??? Like discussions about shaving, waxing, edible unmentionables.........etc. Hmmmmmmmm???" LOL

Lou!!!! another night owl - we would have hit it off for sure If we had more time to get to know each other - Friday was such a wishy washy day for me I was absolutely exhausted.
That mat is just delightful - and I will keep both dates in mind - we will be pulling the walls again this weekend to get the wiring done. I can travel again once they go back in. Hubby will not be with me unfortunately he used all his vacation on the working part of the LadyBug so I get the play side.
Only incriminating issues, experiences and hmmm others that happened at the Rally stays at the Rally. Larritta on the other hand is a tough lady and can handle it don't you think?
I am so sorry I did not get in earlier on Thursday so I could have enjoyed your campfire. With a heavier package I could have bumped up my speed to 70+ no problem once I gained the confidence - but she was too light and the cross wind all the way down was just too much and rattled me above 63-65 mph.
Not to mention the few extra stops - to pick up the power cord that dangled out along the 115....then it was the brakes - wow were they grabbing - brand new - they are fine now no problem on the way home so I guess they have what the men call "burnishing in" sort of like breaking in a new bra maybe. Then it was a quick stop I thought to check the lights as dusk was approaching and we had had issues when we picked her up. Little did I know I had NOTHING!!!! so about 30 minutes was spent fiddling with the wiring at the snakes nest harness I was dealing with. I have no idea what I did - but they all came on like a pretty Christmas tree - so I did not tempt fate gassed up and ran as fast as I could to the border. From there it was just the extra loop in Detroit and clear sailing all the way to Poor Farmers - a beautiful clear night with very little traffic......all the while you guys were having a roaring camp fire!!!!!
Yes please do keep the "door matt" and I will make my way to you one day soon. I am also thinking we might try and get to the Metro-D Rally - we have missed the last two years when we really wanted to make it - so maybe 3rd time we will be lucky. I hear that they are wishing for some Canadian Beer.....

adventures
Yes, we are indeed night owls. It is nice to have a quiet night! We don't get up very early tho..that makes camping a little difficult sometimes. Like all the early birds are up and doing fun stuff by the time we get going.
We will keep the mat in the trailer so that it is there should we get to see you.
Sounds like you had an absolutely great adventure. And now you know YOU CAN DO IT!!! Great job!
We hope to see you again soon. Think about making the Detroit Rally for sure. Those folks are a real fun bunch to be around, for sure!!!

Boler
Larry and I went on an adventure to inspect a trailer for another friend this past week. It was a 28ft. Argosy. It was a big chunk of work...a real project trailer. On the way to do the inspection we passed by an RV place and there was a cute little 13 ft. Boler, from Canada, sitting in their sales lot. Cute, but not as cute as LadyBug will be when you get her all done. We are looking forward to getting the tour at the next rally.

Carol, If you could see our trailer now you, you would say please don't bring your trailer to the rally It is completely ripped apart, no belly pan three big holes in the floor, wiring all disconnected. I am hoping we will have it finished enough to go south in October, don't want to stay here in the frozen tundra. You know up here in Canada after December your trailer tires freeze to the ground and you can't move it till the spring thaw.

LOL Yes, that happened one winter trip, never put the lynx levelers down in the snow! There was a thaw and then a refreeze and I had to leave them there in the then frozen slush or would have had to have an ice chipper.
I would love to be over by you and Sharon. I may be catching the vintage bug. But I would need to have you there for guidance and instruction, but wouldn't our work breaks be fun?!

Penwood is a great idea - never been there and it would be pretty central to quite a few Rivettes. I think we would have to behave ourselves though - as most Airstreamers are quite refined aren't they?
Annie no problem - you just need walls, a bed and a table to have fun in your trialer - as long as nothing is about to fall out or off you can tow it girl - no excuses.
Carol I think if you lived closer we would not get anything done - as the breaks would become the odd time we worked on the trailer - especially if us three got together. We would spend more time about dreaming of what we want our guys to build in the trailer - while we think of ways to cover and paint it.
One thing is for sure we need plugs lots of them for all the different appliances we need
Peter and I discussed the LB this morning as we were waking up - go figure talking about airstreams. Looks like I have another trip in short order to Indiana - we need tanks -----crisis got to go - lcd screen is frying up !!!!
Phew crisis over - wow not sure what that was but my LCD screen went all wiry like bad reception on a TV. Possibly bad ram again - I can see a new computer in the future - this one sure does get a workout - ask Carol - my letters on the keyboard are worn off.....I suppose I could order a new one-- but airstream parts are more important.

Well we forgot to show Vickie's chocolate masterpiece Friday night, so here's the photo.
That great song "Chocolate reverie" by our own moderator Janet can be heard here
CD Baby: HUMPHREY AND HARTMAN: What Turns You On?
Jamie and I listened to it on our run into town Saturday...
