Chris and I will not be in the competion, just help organize it.

Here are a few ideas that we were thinking of.

Best Western attire. No Uwe, you have to wear pants under your chaps.
Best karkoke of a western song.
and we are open to other types of ideas.

If there is no interest that is ok, but come on it adds some fun to the party. What do you think????
We would love to hear for all the group.

Those are great ideas, I am thinking that there could be a sub-category for the "Best Western Attire", namely the "Biggest Western Hat", and although there is an incumbent that would easily win, I am betting that some folks may try to knock him off his stump.

And if I may say so, to not have the Cannon's as competitors would be like chips without salsa, so please reconsider your position. As a point of order, in the past the organizers have participated in the contests, Bam's and Mr. Str8's lounge lizard outfits come to mind as examples.

here is one vote for the listed catagories.

Hi All~

I don't want to wish my summer away, but I'm really looking forward to the rally. I agree with Mr Time, a theme competition without the Cannons just seems so wrong. Do reconsider, that "AirLounge" was the bomb!

We live just a hop away from Encinitas, when the rally gets closer we'll see if a caravan can be worked out. Good luck getting the trailer ready.

Hi Kim,

Getting ready to hit the road again tomorrow with Steve and Cody for the Coast for some more ab hunting near pt. arena..thought I'd check in ..we just got back from Monterey (hotel accomodations this time)..saw your post, very cool idea!!

How 'bout some yodeling or lariat spinning contests!! I like the big ten gallon hat idea too..and I'll bring my keyboard, and if anyone wants to bring their own song sheets, I'll gladly play along for the singing cowboys/cowgirls..and I agree w/time, you should indeed join in again w/the competition!!

Great Paula, bring the music and keyboard! I think the lariat idea is wonderful, of course, not too many of us have a lariat, maybe one of the cowboys can bring one for the contest.

And after Steve nabs some ab at the point, could you please FedX some down to Huntington Beach, we miss your delicacies.

Hi Kim...absolutely!
Everyone loves crazy competitions whether they actually participate and dress up or just laugh at *er* cheer everyone else on.
And of course you should join in even if you present the prize to someone else. We expect to see you properly duded up.
Good call on the Uwe rule.

So far we have:

*Best Cowboy Attire
*Best Cowgirl Attire
*Best Hat
*Best Western Karaoke Song
*Most western style pet (watch out, TT the Cat has a great outfit)
*Perhaps a little somethin' somethin' for any western attired kids
*Maybe a group yodel?
*Western line dance? (Codybear could organize?)

It's all good.

Giddyup pardners!
Yee AND haw!!

Don't forget the " Big and Western" part of the Hat Contest. We don't want to see some silly sombreros masquerading as western hats. Got to keep it within the theme.

This is Lisa from Encinitas... Our cloud is gutted and our business is full guns... But all I need is a floor that tows... If we make it, it won't be pretty... but I'll be one of the happiest campers on the grounds!

If I don't have a floor that tows… sad but probable...) perhaps we can be the caboose of the caravan...

Come one, come all...even if you're in a tent.
(It's a large campground with room for whatever yer totin'.)
You can always bunk down in a tent and mosey on over (note western slang )
for the western round up (aka potluck).
Finished Airstreams do not get extra points...just showing up is what counts!

What about a chili cook off....??? Entries bring enough chili to share and then we could have a taste off. Non entries could bring the corn bread and side dishes. ???
Just another idea in a long line of great ideas...

Did I mention I have only ONE GRAND PRISE?

Oh and the western pet clothes, well I have already got that covered, Both Miso and Sumo will be in their best western duds.

I love LOVE chili...of course mine has to be vegetarian.
(We could hopefully get a couple of those types too...Nancy?).
I like the cook off idea.

We'll get a few people to bring small prizes and then you can judge and present the
Grand Prize Biggest Baddest Westernest Dude/Dudette Prize.
Yee haw!

Great ideas all...keep 'em coming.

*Point of order*

There is no such thing as vegetarian chili, by definition chili requires meat to be called chili, anything else is an imposter.

Just wanted to clear that up before anyone gets hurt.

So we could have a chili contest and a soup contest so that the vegetarians will have a venue.

As a card carring member of the ICS, it is my duty to keep the public informed.

How. You speak of coming to my village when the moon shines bright enough to harvest crops. You speak of wearing skins to honor the bovine spirits. You speak of songs and dances that will make our ancestors rejoice...I'm down!
