Ringing out the Old Year Rally

Howdy NorWester's,

Well I just can't wait any longer! I need a rally fix! Soooo.....I'm proposing a forums rally at a new CG west of Portland called Ll Stub Stewart SP Campground. I've never been there, but heard great things about their amenities. I know this is on short notice (I see the CG is about half full now) but I'm proposing the dates to be Dec 28 until Jan 1st. That's 4 nights folks. Or you can come and go as you have time. If it's raining, it could be a bugger. We know how to deal with it....right?

I can reserve 5-10 sites depending on what the response is and if we fill those everyone else is on their own.

Other details are to come after we see what interest there is in this rally.

Let me know what you think!

This could be fun. We'll check our calendar.

Here's a link to the park Oregon Parks and Recreation

If NY's weekend isn't going to work for most folks, I could suggest another weekend.

This sounds like great fun, but Dave said he heard a lot of parks in the area have been shut down because of flooding damage.

Still, I am ready to get out and go somewhere. Some other weekend would be better though, we have been planning a party at our house for New Years Eve! The hosts definitly can't skip out and go camping. Of course if you all wanted to come camp at BG Lake...

The campground is open. Currently there are a few displaced vernonia residents living there and the park has been providing drinking water and shower facilities to the locals displaced from the flood. One of the camps cabin vilages is serving as a department of corrections temporary housing location for the inmate cleanup crews for the flood zone in vernonia. Not sure how long they will be there. I will send an e-mail to Dan Lucas the manager and get the scoop. Stub was recently constructed and has little in the way of tree coverage in the campgrounds and is prone to freezing and cold winds. bring lots of merlot

Let me see if I get this:

No trees, convicts on the premises, cold and blustery with homeless folks in the showers?

Hmm... I might need more than merlot to make this a really relaxing time.
