You know, I say I wouldn't be up for the challenge after restoring my 1964 Glasspar Sportsman 17' runabout, but it does look like fun I do admit!
Nice job Till!

With airSCREAM weekend lurking in the gloom of the near future.........
Till, I vote you scrap all plans for beds, cabinets, and a dinette in your gutted Airstream and replace them with plans for coffins, secret passages, mechanical monsters and a Scooby Doo fog machine. If you do that you will earn my respect (giggle).
Let me know how I can help.

Hey, Silvertwinkie-
Want another Glasspar?
I've got a '66 Flying V-1600; overall shape is decent....well, except for the transom!
Reeeeaaalllly cheap!

You ought to hang on to that Glasspar - they are great boats - that's my other project, I'm restoring a 59 Seafair Sedean (Glasspar). That project is on hold while I'm working on the 58 Airstream

Well, Ken, that was my plan.
I knew she needed a new floor (but at least it's got fiberglass stringers...),
and I have an engine for it.
But when I started to really check things out, it turns out the transom is shot.
I'd love to keep it as my next project, but it seems I have too many already.
And I want a boat I can actually use this summer.
So I can get a 17' Grady White for $200 from a guy right down the road....it's pretty tempting.
I just won't have space (or time) for the Glasspar, I fear.
My wife and I jusy bought a(n old) house in NY on a tiny lot, so our '62 Avion and our cargo trailer and (soon) the '56 Safari and the Grady white are all taking up residence on my parents' lawn (or in the woods or their backyard, etc). I'm just out of space, and I have too many projects!
Want another Glasspar?

What motor does it have? Also, looking at the Glassparclassics home page, I don't see a Flying V-1600, there are you sure it's a V-1600?
Inboard? Outboard?
What's with the transom?
Also does it have a trailer?
PM me the info and the price you're looking for...I might do it...not sure, but would think about it.

I've promised myself I would not take on another project until I get the Airstream and Glasspar finished.
Grady Whites's are very nice too.

Zamboni.
Got our sign properly placed in front of our house. I think if I put out a bunch of flamingos of the variety we saw at the rally, I am pretty confident that our real estate taxes will not go higher....

Hi all,
Just got home(Thursday 17th) after spending some time near Peoria with Ellen's relatives.
Want to say that the rally was a blast. Enjoyed touring the various trailers, pigging out at the potluck and meeting a bunch of the Forum folks.
It was neat to be camping among so many Silver Bullets.
We're just a little bummed out at not being able to be at the Michigan rally.
Maybe next year?

Norby, are you professionally trained? A real chef?
What you say is actually simple but true.. if the table is set with all bland food, I can't eat. If I see something not right, I can't eat. The older I get, the worse I get.
A garnish can make all the difference! Or else it's comfort food time, for me..
the potluck we had was the best one I have ever seen, and people REALLY were imaginative!

Don't know if the hyperlink will paste correctly. You may have to search the number at Ebay.
(they stole my flooring, BTW)
