My trio is playing at the Trout Lake Arts Fest July 15 and 16 - near Mount Adams. Last year we went as well and camped at a local county park - it was lovely - a little rugged - sort of state parkish. The festival is small and charming - at a historic B& B/farm.There are ice caves nearby you can tour and it's at the foot of mount Adams.
Wanna do it again? We could bring the big cooking gear and maybe we could do something really simple like a Weenie roast or BYOM barbeque.... and breakfast...or?
There are fabulous river runners activities locally and great kayaking as well..... wanna rally?
Totally in for that! Of course, we'll be at Silver Falls hopefully on July 4th weekend (if we get a few more folks signed up). But Trout Lake was a blast last year, so definitly count us in!
Janet and Stephanie, sorry that we will miss the Trout Lake rally this year. We really enjoyed it last year. I have a company picnic in Canby that weekend and just can't go. We will be at the rally in Salem. Maybe we will see you there.
I washed our Airstream yesterday during a lightning storm. Didn't seem like a real good idea, but it was dirty.
We would love to join you, but don't think we can make it all the way to Washington in a couple of weeks... it sounds really enjoyable! Maybe if you do it again next year.... we will be with you in spirit! (enjoy some spirits and think of us...

Soon to be traveling in our S Tardis! Yippie! Not quite everything finished, but getting there ~ certainly ready to travel.
The Guler County campground is reluctant to hold a spot for us this year and they've raised their rates - $18.00 per night. The accommodating attendant no longer works there.
So.... I've been on the phone and tracked down some alternatives. One of the more interesting ones is a place called Hollenbeck Park. It's at the end of an airstrip - and right on the river. They have a swimming hole and fishing. They also have a group site available - with trees and a fire pit. It used to be an old orchard and is extremely laid back.
There are pit toilets, city water, picnic tables and ONE electrical hook up at the group site. It's a couple of miles from town, they will hold the space for us and it is really quiet and remote. It's reportedly beautiful.
I'd really love to check this place out as a possible rally site for a larger - more organized event (think parked in a circle). They evidently rent this space out for weddings and family reunions and it's NOT KOA.
If we want to move, I'll get directions and post. Could be fun - wanna have an adventure?
Here is another option - and they take reservations .. http://www.elkmeadowsrvpark.com/sitemap.html They still have some spaces - but maybe not together - but if only a few are going - this might be an option.
So.... vote now. let me know asap.
