So, when's Beverly Beach?
Can't wait to catch up!

Great picture Jim! Looks like an ideal spot. I'll have to get Joe to share his GPS data. Sorry we had to miss this one.

Sitting around the campfire Saturday night, I think we had four guitars, a banjo, and a cello, folks telling jokes, campcollector poking at the fire and sending geysers of sparks roaring up into the sky, I really didn't want to have to leave and go back to work on Monday. I have never been so close to ditching it all and becoming a trailer vagabond

Re-cap on Area 33

It was a fine time. Scenic area. The view of the dump was glorious.

Seriously, It was by far one of the nicest camping spots I have been in. One of those places where you could sit in your chase lounge all day and never get tired of the view. Thanks to Janet, Michelle, Gary, Jim and Brad for the music Saturday night. There was kite flying, Theo had a great time with a stunt kite on Sunday. I tried it, and did pretty good until I fell in the irrigation ditch . Theo and I stayed until late Sunday evening. Theo also went fishing in the White Salmon River and caught a couple of Brook Trout, which were released. The food was great and the company even better ! Thanks to all who came and thanks to Janet for putting this together.

You can view my pics here ----> Troutlake Rally

Glad it was fun!

Hi guys!

Just got through reading all the good comments and seeing the pictures! So sorry we couldn't make it! Ok, everyone is asking... when is Beverly Beach????

Great pics, Chris!

Hope it wasn't really hot.... it sure has been lately! We are visiting in San Francisco, so right here, right now it is quite nice and cool .

Beverly Beach III is in the planning stages - pencil in the last weekend of October. I put up a new thread shortly.

And ... the temperature at area 33 was perfect!

It's on my calendar - The BBQ will be ready.

BTW, while you were posting, we were inviting new Airstream owners to the BB getaway. They just brought home a '70 23-footer. She's been reading the forums, so we'll probably be hearing from her soon.

Claudia, my first dutch oven peach cobbler seemed to go over well. I burned the bottom of the pot though, and I couldn't get the coals going until CampCollector pitched in to help with some white gas and a match! But everyone survived with only minor burns (just kidding!) and I've got the pot cleaned and re-seasoned and ready to go again.

AREA 33--UNIDENTIFIED YELLOW DEVICE--or--UYD

The rally was a lot of fun and it was great to meet up with people that we knew, and great to meet new people...Trout Lake is pretty country and AREA 33 is a really nice spot to camp and must be kept secret and all costs !!!

Now for the "UYD''--since Molly and I were about the last to leave, I thought that I would take a look around and clean up anything that may have been left behind---The place was nice and tidy, save one cig. butt and one plastic bottle that I disposed of.---Good job folks! Then, as we were about to pull out, I spotted the UNIDENTIFIED YELLOW DEVICE setting upright on the ground very near to the spot that Chris and Theo camped. I approached carefully and discovered a bright yellow oil can sitting in the grass, as if it was placed there with purpose. Anyway, I now have this bright yellow oil can here in Wasco America and the real owner can retreive it here in Wasco if they can identify it as a "bright yellow oil can" !!!!

No shipping---Can to oilly !!!

Oh yea, at 12:30 am about 2 hrs after I got there my waterline broke. Consequently I pumped about 22 gals of water onto my floor. I literally had water running out my front door. So I put a temp fix on my temp fix and did a correct repair the next day. It took a while to dry everything out though. After that my Caravel behaved all weekend.

Thanks Jonathan for pointing out the water running out of my trailer ! Otherwise it may have emptied my whole tank in there.

Chris

And Chris, for the rest of the weekend whenever I saw you I'd think "Did I turn my waterpump off?"
