Add my wife and I to the list of hopefuls. We'll check our schedule and see if we're able to make it. Andy's grub sounds terrific and it would be great to meet up with all of you.

Next Weekend at Joshua Tree

Lots of people are busy next weekend (Nov. 8-11) for the Vets Day. Looks like John/Katie Woodburn and my family will "get out of town" this time. If anyone decides to go and/or wants to go anywhere in the desert for any weekend in the future, send an email so I can send everyone an email. There are good places up in the Mojave Desert and north of Antelope Valley and out by Landers (earth quakes can "rock" you to sleep ) and north / near Lucerne Valley that are good. Also, out by Amboy Crater next to the mountains is good, too. And for an ocean trip, anyone tried Carlsbad? We've been meaning to do that one, too.
So the question is, where do you want to go? Do you want some company in the form of Airstream owners?

Question: How do you feel about everyone getting the list that I have been putting together?
Email me at gnorgan@pe.net and/or reply on this forum.

December Outing in the Desert

My wife and I are still planning on attending. Hope we have a few units getting together. How about you, Gary, John and Andy, still coming? We are looking forward to it.

The Norgan family is still planning to be at Joshua Tree the weekend of December 13 - 15.
Just spent 5 nights last week (Monday thru Saturday) out at Owl Canyon campground north of Barstow for the Thanksgiving get-together of my relatives. Great time, good food, bad weather, lots of wind and rain with flooding of the washes.....FANTASTIC!!! Beats the h... out of working any day.
Boy, are trailers noisy in a driving/pounding rain and wind. But we felt very secure inside (and warm with heater on).
Looking forward to meeting other Airstreamers weekend after next. If it is windy, just drive slower....these Airstreams just cruise along no problem in all kinds of weather.
Try to get into Loop B, the northern-most loop in Cottonwood Campground. Check out the maps on the Joshua Tree website.
More later,

PS - Good to have some Arizona people over, too!!!

This is the first time I've seen this thread since I joined.
Wish I had seen it sooner. I'm heading out to Blair Valley in the Anza-Borrego desert for my Airstream's maiden voyage in two days.
I'm in such a rush! The cushions are still at the upholsterer, I'm having the trailer brakes checked out tomorrow, and I'm hanging new curtains.
I've been working 7 days a week since last March and this will be my first time off in 7 months! If nothing else, I'll throw everything in the trailer get out there and have 4 days to put things together.
Let me know the next time a mini rally is planned!

Unfortunately, that weekend got all clogged up all of a sudden, so we are doubtful.

Unless, of course, we just feel we HAVE to get out in the Airstream, and we cancel all our committments! It will be 3 weeks without camping by the 13th, so it might happen...

Otherwise, have a great time, post many news bulletins, and we'll try hard to make it next time.... January?

Talking Hey, Fly Fisher

Hey, Brad/Julie. Send me your email address and I will put it on my list of Airstreamers who still work (and others, too). I see you are planning to go Dec 13-15. See you there.
BTW, there is absolutely no organization happening here, nor will there be any fees, other than your Joshua Tree camping fees. Any if there are no available spaces then we might just have to wander south into the desert and camp for free.......

Below is the reply from Andy when I asked if he would be attending the mini-rally at Joshua Tree next weekend:

A very serious personal problem came up Saturday. I will not be able to attend unless it is resolved by Wednesday. However, I still could fix some brats, and a door prize or two, if someone would come by my office on Friday, in the event I cannot attend.
Please check with me late Wednesday.

Andy

Cool Rick. That means you'll be attending this weekend's get-together in your Bambi?

We are definately planning to attend. Hope to get out to Cottonwood by 3-4 PM Friday, barring any unforseen circumstances.

I could stop by Inland RV, but we probably ought to let Andy off the hook if he is facing serious family issues.

Rick, I agree. Let's let Andy solve his problems and hopefully he can make the next rally.
I plan to arrive at Cottonwood early Friday afternoon. If I understand Gary Norgan's post correct we should look for space in Loop 'B'.
See you there.
