That way we won't trip over all the wine bottles ... on the ground ... if we didn't have tables ... to put the wine bottles ... on.

We've got a 5' light weight plastic table we can easily bring if needed; I'm sure some others have similar tables that might be usable.

We were there last May, shortly after Pinnacles National Monument became Pinnacles National Park. A few of the things they did in preparation for the festivities surrounding this change in status was to pave part of the campground road and lay a new coat of gravel on the RV pads. As I recall, there are tables in each camp site (perhaps another attempt at sprucing things up for the visiting dignitaries)....I cannot recall if the tables are chained down or not. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the electrical service is flaky (at least it was in May, when the temps soared above 100-degrees). Just in case, make sure you bring your long-johns!

We were there in April and there were movable tables. In addition to wine(which we love) we will be bringing a keg of homebrew beer and one of cider. Hopefully there are other beer drinkers and we won't have to drink it all ourselves.

Yup....one thing AirForums people are good about is coming to the aid of someone suffering from having beer to get rid of!

Looks like we're giving our newest National Park quite a silver necklace for the weekend - 20 aluminum trailers so far. There are still 9 reservable spaces available for the weekend.

Bart and I are going to pop down tomorrow for just a night to check out the lay of the land. If anyone has any questions or wants any particular photos, now's the time to ask.

Pinnacles Mini-Rally

Well we are in site 111D!! When we booked that weekend, we had no idea it was turning into another Airstream rally, but that will be great!! I think now the D loop from 119-114 is taken up with Airstreams!! We will hope our record of good weather for the rallies, holds!!

Say Hi to my friends in 116 and 117. They have a Perris Pod and a Bambi. The Bambi is a rental that they are trying out. Paige and Jeff, Melanie and Jim.

Another thing to note is there is little or no cell service and no WiFi at the Pinnacles Campground. I have Verizon and had to drive a few miles to the north to get a signal, and, I could get a good signal on the High Peaks trail. I heard if you have a booster antenna, you can get a signal though. Also, the payphone at the visitor center only takes calling cards and not coins! What's a payphone, you ask?? lol

That Senior Pass (known as the "Geezer Pass" at our house) makes the National Parks, National Forests, BLM, etc., verrrrrry attractive for camping! :P

It's our first post but we're joining you on this adventure. We have a newer 30 Classic and this looks like a great place to spend a weekend. Look forward to meeting everyone. If weather permits we will be planning to do the hike. Thanks for putting this together. Troy and Michele.

Welcome to AirForums!

If you have a campsite number, I'll put you on the map.
