John...

I'll give them a call right now.

Don't know what the problem was. Rebooked - we're next door in D95.

I like how reserve america shows all sites as Ocean Front. Maybe in a few years......

Gonna be a great rally! I'm so looking forward to the hike up to the Pinnacles, and exploring the caves We will start hike training soon

Checking the reservation page, and it still shows at least 15 spaces available in the D loop.

Okay - questions from the hubby...we're assuming no sewer hookups but anyone know if there's a dump site there? Also - water hookups? Just need to know if we fill the tank before we go or not....thx!!

There is a dump site, and it says drinking water is provided. But it doesn't say that there is water bib up at your site. So i think you wouldn't want to show up with an empty tank.

Seems like a pretty nice campground equipped with a general store, visitors center , and even a pool.

Maybe I missed it, but does anyone know what the difficulty level is of the 6-mile hike? Are dogs allowed on the trail? John and I are excited to explore some caves. Might have to put Johnny on a leash or maybe he'll sit this one out at Grandpa's house.

We just booked #98. We love the pinnacles. Mrs. Mod, The hikes we have done are not difficult, I think the only tough one is called the ridge trail, but it has been a while. We did see people carrying small kids around, the only tough part is when a couple of the caves are so tight you have to crawl under a couple spots. But you can easily go around those parts. No dogs allowed on the trails.

...Yes Barbie... Honestly, wherever there is a rally, I think we're game. The people really make the event... and the places are always interesting for one reason or another. The campground looks very cool. Fantasizing about camping after a grueling 6 weeks.

Come on, you two, where is your sense of adventure?!?!? Really, though, the caves are fun....just make sure you have a flashlight (you will need it to avoid hitting your head in the darker areas and to see the BATS!).

No one has even mentioned the opportunity to observe California Condors! I was there in May, and we saw tons of Turkey Vultures....but, no condors. Rumor was that the condors were over on the coast feasting on a dead whale. Just in case you were wondering, California Condors are NOT found in the caves.... LOL!

I put a condor in the rally poster just cause they're sooooo awesome. Janet gave great advice about letter visibility that made the design actually work.

I'm bringing my long lens and hoping for the best. Now I have to get in shape so that I can do that steep hike with the long lens for the condors and the tripod for some long exposure bat pictures. Huff...puff...huff...puff...
