We had fun last year - let's do it again! Anyone interested?
I can reserve sites at the group rate. This is a do it yourself rally - here's what's planned:
Friday night: BYOM (bring your own meat) BBQ - fixins supplied. Saturday night: Gary's famous chili dinner around the campfire - chili in 3 flavors; mild, manly and vegetarian. Campers are encouraged to contribute salads, drinks and desserts. Sunday AM (not too early) breakfast.
Beverly Beach State Park is on the ocean with wooded campsites w/elect and water available.
Parking fee is $17.00 per night. Beverly Beach Park has several bath houses, a playground, beach front and streams.
If there is interest, I could line up a group tour of the Aquarium, if not, you can entertain yourselves with fun stuff to do in Newport: Beach combing, shopping, whale watching tours, light house gawking etc....

as this was a fun rally last year, and our first chance to meet up with the forums group! I see it's two weeks earlier than last year....which should mean a better chance of no rain (although anything's possible at the coast). I met up with "Buckmaster" from Newport (who was going to take us crabbing last time....maybe next time) today in Philomath towing his 65GT to Mollola......his truck was broke down and needed assistance......he got a tow and new truck from home and was on his way. It's funny how AS's make you stop to see if you can lend a hand.
Anyway, hope we can have as good a group as last year.....and some new faces as well!
We missed last year's - I found the info on the Forum a week after it happened. Look forward to meeting "the group" ...we did have a great weekend with Jim & Cheryl at the Oregon/Western Oregon joint rally in Lincoln City in April.
I have some contacts at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I'll also be happy to send literature from the Chamber of Commerce to anyone interested, just PM me. The chamber's web site is http://www.newportchamber.org/
You can count me in, tenatively. I will know for sure after I get back from my Wisconsin trip this fall.
Chris
We should be able to see the finished product by then.....all systems running and all furniture onboard eh?
It sounds like you've done everything right........so it should be spectacular!
Can't wait to see it in person.....kinda like our own "vintage thunder" on the west coast!
Now if Marc gets his Argosy done......wow! We'll really have some great trailer tours!
I better have it done by then, I am taking a cross country trip with it to WI in September. If I don't my friend will shoot me ! lol It will be mostly done by the Troutlake Rally. I put the gas lines back on tonight and put the shocks on. Taking Friday off to get some things done to it as well. You'll get sort of a sneek peek, at Troutlake.
I put it on my vaction schedule for work. Should be fine!
Heyyyy... how a bit of a contest. Which team could change an axle the fastest. I've got a tandem in search of new axles. Me and Gary could do one, Jim and Campcollector the other. Fastest team wins....... beer, hot wine, my endless thanks?
Cool! Man-oh-man is Campcollector (ranger at this park) gonna be surprised when he gets back from vacation!
I have reserved 15 sites on the G loop sites 5 - 20. The ones on the inside of the loop are pull-throughs. # 7 has my name on it. Here is a link to the park website. You can view a site map there.

Ok I'll bring the electrict impact wrench, 4 jack stands, 1 floor jack and we'll have a contest. You supply the prize.
How about a 2005 25' CCD for first prize.
