Just checked the 5 day weather forcast for Newport at http://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?we...ns=wc:USOR0245 and it looks like occasional showers.
Campcollector knows the answer to this question..........Will we have access to a shelter house nearby for food prep & table seating??
If not do we have adequate cover for the food prep/visiting/eating area??
Just trying to cover all our bases!
Also talked to Paul and Leta Edwards from Florence, OR at last week's WOU rally. They indicated they would like to come if there's still room......if not they would be willing to park their 78 International outside the group area if needed.
The shelter house is far, far away from the g-loop... But we will bring a coupel of 12 x 12 canopies - not enough - but it's a start. Campcollector (Mr Ranger, sir) will move some tables if we talk really nicely to him AND admire his Bambi.
There are still sites available adjacent to the ones i reserved. They can reserve online at the park website. Let me know if they're coming...
I can't believe how big this thing has gotten...

OreExcella-Yes to Sharris' cookbook, it would be nice to have a copy. Thanks.
Rally time is really close now, and I see that this is no longer a small rally. Lots of people singned up--GREAT. Who knows, next year maybe we will take over the whole park, and the year after, the whole coast...........How much chilli can you cook Gary???????
Question--Can we fill up with water at the park, so I don't have to pack a full tank 200 miles?
Thanks Bob of Bob and Molly
Right now we are looking at 3 gals of Manley Chili, 3 gals of
Mild Chili, and 2 gals of Vegitarian chili. Should be enough for 50 to 60 people with all of the other goodies.
Like janet said we have 2 12'x12' canopies and a 20 'x40' tarp I can attach between the two of them. I don't know how many people you can stuff in a shelter 12'x40' but I think we have other options available. If anyone might have a 12'x12' Ez-up Canopy to bring please do so, it might be nice to have more available. I also have a 10'x10' I'll be bringing.
Still need everyone to bring their Firedancers to the party. So far I have one wood fire, 1 fire dancer, and 3 propane heaters. Bring your shorts and sunglasses for this event. Should be warm to hot at the campsite.
Looking forward to a great weekend with everyone at the "BBB" Beverly Beach Bash.
Gary, I have a 10 x 10 easy up and 2 12 x 12 blue dining canopies. I'll bring 'em along. Anything else that you might need ? Extra campstove, chairs? If ya think of anything else that we might be needing let me know.
No preference - I just realized that I didn't plan any pre-dinner junk food. Crunchy, salty stuff would be a good addition.
Okey Dokey, Chips and Peanuts ! I sure am looking forward to this ! I'll probably be down there about 8pm ish Friday night. Unless Theo gets outta work early.
Chris
PS - PM me if you think of anything else I might need to bring.
We will bring some happy hour food stuffs as well. Roasted Red Peppers and bread...mmmmm.
Roasted Red Pepers, Olive oil and raw Garlic on a good stiff sourdough bread. UMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
My idea of complete dinner. We bought a 3lbs bag of raw garlic might have to try it out.
Since Gary and Janet are providing the grill for Friday, main course for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast (plus all their heaters, rain gear, and countless other items) for forty something folks .....I think it's only fair that we all chip in to help defray some of their costs (even though I hope we're all bringing something good to eat to add to the feast). I think that $6 each or $12 per couple is in the ballpark for the weekend event.
Whaddaya think?
