Here ya go. One ariel photo. Google Maps

Larger building on the left is the Compton Ridge Motel. Scroll the picture down further and you will see the main campground.

When we get a little closer to the date, I'll post some driving trips. For those of you who will be coming via I-44 and then south from Springfield, there is a new bypass that was opened about 3 or 4 years ago that makes getting to the campground a breeze. Highway 76 through Branson is a nightmare and some of the back roads are not condusive to trailer towing. Get on the wrong bypass and you will encounter some grades that you would never consider pulling a trailer on.

Here is a review I wrote a couple of years back on the main Compton Ridge campground.

Here is a color PDF map of both campgrounds.

Jack,

I actually meant an ariel photo of the rally with all of our trailers sut up in the campground.

If enough people will be coming from the STL area, perhaps we can have a mini convoy down to the campgrounds...that would be cool.

It would be fun. For my side though I'm coming down early in the week, so unless others plan on leaving early, I'll probably be watching you all pull in. It's still nice to see the pictures anyway. That's the first time I tried to see what was on the satellite site had for the area.

Now I remember that they used to have helicopter rides down there. If they still do and you can convince the pilot to alter his flight path slightly, he could take you over the campground for a picture!

Jack,

Don't think I can afford a chopper ride unless it is by the US Army. We are considering coming down a few days early since we would like to have some time with our son doing something fun.

Let me know your schedule and we will see how it matches up.

Steve

For the Can Opener Rally in January, the organizers made a map of the campground area and then as each attendee registered, they labeled the sites with name and site number. This really was useful and fun to follow as well as the time for the rally neared. It also helped people to select sites. This might be a neat addition to this thread if someone knows how to do it. Just a suggestion~G

Steve:

We did the Branson visit about two months ago, and it's a wonderful destination. We would certainly like information about camping facilities in and around Branson since we stayed at Big Cedar Lodge on Tablerock lake.

Although we enjoyed the Lodge, a trip to Branson in our Airstream would be even more fun. In short, count us in!

Now, I'v heard all the input about those "silver" Airstream being all together at the rally; however, some of us are lucky enough to have the cute cream colored ones. I hope there will be an "us" at this rally and I'm not the only cute one. Any other Argosys going?

Juel,

You might want to register to ensure you get a spot before they all fill up!

Don't worry about it if you are the ONLY Argosy...it still looks like an Airstream .

[quote=soldiermedic]I have started an official rally on the calendar for those of you who want to attend.

Steve,

I am always looking for an excuse to visit Springfield/Branson and get away from Dallas, will be making reservations tomorrow. I've attended forum rallys in the Texas Hill Country and East Texas so we are looking forward to seeing the group,
