October 12 Fall Color Rally - Pig Roast N IL S WI 2007

We are starting to fine-tune our idea for our fall color rally at Pecatonica Forest preserve.

This may be the last outing of the year for most of who live up in these parts -(

I am enteraining the thought of a SPECIAL theme.. a Hawaiian Luau with a Pig Roast. I need to know if anyone is interested .. a Pig Roast would cost each person a few bucks.

I am sure we would need at least 20 people (or more) in order to warrant a piggie :-)

I though we could get someone to come roast the pig and we can each bring the rest of the goodies.

Please post your thoughts;-)

If a pig costs too much, we might still get barbecue catered. If THAT doesn't work, it'll be burgers :-)

You did the best thing that will guarantee me not being there...you scheduled it during my Branson Rally.

Intentional it was NOT.

We already knew you couldn't come.. but WE can't come to Branson!

It's just simply TOO FAR!

I owed almost 800 bucks in gas bills last month because of two rallies we attended plus theregular hunting and gathering required for our antique shop.

So for those of us that can't go to Branson, come up here :-)

And we'll catch YOU guys on the road sometime.. I'd like to see Collin with his glowsticks ;-)

We are interested and the pig roast sound great. I will have to check on the dates before we can confirm.

Jerry and I are interested. I can't confirm until after my second knee surgery in late August. But if the surgery goes like the first, I should be able to attend.

Lori and I love the idea of a Hawaiian picg roast!! We had to bail on the Branson Rally due to time off issues and fuel costs.
Pec is close and no time off required!!! I will have to go and dig out my grass skirt.

Or at least my loud shirt.

I have found a restaurant that caters a pig roast.. now I'm waiting to hear back how many miilions of bucks it will be.

Just got my new left leg today. Still have a lot of work to do, but we should be able to attend. Love pork, so the pig roast sounds great. If you decide to do it yourself, don't do like someone we know did. Remove the package of innards before you roast it.

No word yet on the price of a pig, but if we don't have more people sign up., we won't need a whole pig, anyway.

How would anybody else feel about changing the date to one week later to get out of the conflict with Branson? Seems sad to have two events at the same time and nothing else close.

Awe Jim...were you guys considering a trip to Branson, or just want to open it up to Branson ralliers the floowing weekend?
