Kewl

Wasn't it GREAT to meet NEW people having their first rally, and also people who are so new that they don't even have a trailer to bring yet???

This is a REALLY nice bunch of people.

We too made it home safe and sound. Rachelle, you're pics are great. I think Luna looks magnificent in her grass skirt. It was nice to see familiar faces and new ones alike. We definitely need to get our act together to attend these more often than once every three years! Every year I suggest skipping the Iowa Power Wagon Rally in favor of the Moraine View Rally, but I always get the expected reply. But look for us in the fall, at a dessert rally, or just about any other time. We have a reservation for the first weekend of November at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana incase anyone is looking for somewhere to go one more weekend.

Steve

Gary kept a GREAT Campfire going and it wasn't cold.

Plus we had a few libations; the cider concoction was EXCELLENT.. thanks Dana and Mike! You've endeared ourselves to our group :-)

We only had rain Sunday morning, and it was actually VERY pleasant to wake up to. It was really nice laying in bed snuggled up with my two little dogs, listening to the rain, which wasn't really cold.

I LOVE the fall here.

Why don't we ALL try to do a better job of telling each other where we're going camping throughout the year..... we could have mini-rallies of just two.

Ok, Tedd,

I'm trying to imagine what you mean by "dragged out".. and I don't think you meant Lori chasing your kids all rally..

Do NOT tell me that your trailer sank in the mud !

We too had a great time. Thanks to everybody for the good food and conversation.

We got home about 3:30 with no major drama. Had the last bit of brisket for lunch on the way home. We are still working to get the carpet under the bed dried out from the water pump changes.

Tedd,

Sorry that we didn't stay longer to offer moral support. Wet grass is really slippery, isn't it.

I thought I felt "Eddie's" AWD kick in for a second when I pulled up the incline. When I got out, stopped on the road, and checked for for the junk I usually forget, I found I had ripped up a patch of grass about 6 feet long.
I'll have to remember to bring a box of grass seed next spring.

Tom.

I had problems backing out the car to go dump the blue boy. So when I got back from that I drove down to the front of the trailer and then drove out a different way to see of I would have problems pulling out. I didn't, so I hooked up to the trailer and proceeded to slide sideways. The host was there and said to stay put.

The man in charge of the forest preserve district lived near by. He showed up with a tow strap and chain. He had to go back for more chain.

So with three tow chains and a tow strap and a little laying around in the mud. He pulled me and the rig out of the low area like we were nothing!

I believe Dana got a few pictures. I hope she got my good side.

Tedd, what a story. What did your kids have to say?

I bet they had NO IDEA camping would be THAT exciting.

Glad that you were able to get out OK. Hope that there was no damage to car or trailer.
