Maybe we can find some way to "circle the wagons" and put all the easy ups in the center circle. Then we could have someone play a guitar and sing Westerns. It's been cold in Yreka of late also. I think it's gotten to me.
See ya all next week end.
Don
I don't know about now, But when we made our site reseveration there were no Yurts at that time.

OK - we'll bring a couple of canopies and some propane heaters. We're getting to know the LP gas dealer in Newport on a first name basis. LOL

Janet and Gary- refer back to post #72! We? can take care of things, you two have done your share! This will be a relaxing time for you!
I noticed if we take in a group of 15 or more to the festival, we can get a discount. So I think a few more Airstreams are needed! This discount works Friday and Sunday, with advance notice to the Chamber of Commerce.

Yurt
I called to check on the yurt today and found out that you have to reserve a month in advance ( I was a day late ). So it will cost $41 to get it for the day. I checked the weather forcast and I think we'll be fine with the canopies and a couple picnic tables in our area. Besides, I'd hate to have Janet carry her Merlot all the way to the other end of the campground .
Started the refer up last night and it is a nice cool 34 deg. in there. Perfect for keeping my beer cold. Goin to shop and pack tomorrow night and I am off sometime Thursday morning.
Everyone that got a site through me, stop by my site when you get there and I will give you your camping permits.
Janet and Gary, Stef , When do you think you'll be rolling thru Portland ? We could have a mini mini caravan. lol.
I only have one more post left and then I am goin to revel in my 500th for a while
Cheers, Chris
Oh yea, I still have one more site left F-26 if anyone is interested !!

We'll be heading over to the coast Thursday afternoon and should get there before dark. Chris.........we'll pay you when we get there.....thanks again for reserving the spots. Just so I understand this......the only meal we're all providing for is Saturday nite....right? I think we're going to make beercheese soup to help take the nip off! We'll also bring some fresh baked bread!
Do we need firewood?? I'll bring our firedancer.....but it would be great to have a real fire (especially with Jonathan there)!
See ya'll in Newport

I don't know when we'll be taking off, but we'll be there friday, and go check out the festival Friday. Of course, Dave's allergic to seafood, and we don't drink wine, so I don't know if that's really going to be the highlight of our trip
Saturday is strictly reserved for lounging around, napping, walking on the beach, stuff like that. Still can't decide if we should bring the dogs or not. I need to decide soon, so the housesitter will know! Don't want her to get here and wonder where the dogs are!
I'm sure looking forward to spending a weekend in the trailer though! It's going to be great to get away from the house for a few days!
Chris, I can't believe you've got the fridge fired up already! I need to go de-winterize the trailer, put the pillows and bedding back in it, get the tanks filled...man, is it Wednsday already?! Didn't I also promise Jim I'd be ready to play a duet of Scotch & Soda? Oh man! Better get to work....

Brrrr....
We just got back from a w/e camping trip to Astoria (kids got out of school early, no skiing or biking this last w/e). We stayed at the KOA across from Fort Stevens. What a great time! Warm pool and hottub, went out and saw (the foundation of) Fort Clatsop, went down to Seaside to watch people in period garb recreate the Lewis and Clark Expidition to make salt out of the seawater, and attempt to "trade" with the actors. The kids and us had a blast.
Have to warn you, I'm sure it's warmer now, but it was about -2 C. Froze the water supply line (ended up using my fresh water tank instead), and I froze my water lines on the way home. I hope I don't have any damage from that! We went through 1 and 1/2 30# propane bottles (heater, stove top cooking, and the hot water tank) in three days! Seems like a lot - but I kept the water heater going on the way down to keep the tank from freezing up. I should've done this on the way home, but I didn't - don't think it would have helped the lines though.
Gary and Janet - just want to say thanks again! We BBQ'd with a wonderful grill (even made breakfast bacon too!).
We'll miss all of you! I though about trying to figure out where you live and stop by on the way home, Steph and Dave, but didn't want you guys to think we're Airstream Stalkers!
Take care!
Marc

other Food at the Festival
Cheesesteak sandwich, BBQ ribs, deep fried asparagus, hot French bread and Brie, cream of wild mushroom soup, turkey legs, donuts made on the spot, chicken spring rolls...
There are really nice dog exercise areas -behind your spots is an open area under the trees, and in the middle of G loop is a nice sunny area.
I still think the best place to get together would be the inside of G loop. Maybe NorCal Bambi could move to F26, which is inside the G loop. Or the last I checked, none of the inside loops were taken, so we could just take them over for a gathering spot.

Molly and I were hoping to fill that last slot at the last minute, but it looks like it is not going to happen. Work calls and I came down with a nasty cold a couple of days ago. The boys, Hank and Otto are not at all happy about this.
Looks like you guys are going to nail the weather, so have a great time and I hope to see everyone at the next rally.
Cheers Bob of Bob and Molly

We will be leaving on Thursday. Spending the first nite in Valley of the Rouge. Then heading north early on Friday morning. I'm hoping to get new door molding today and then we will be ready to go. Looking forward to seeing the group. We could move if it would help. How about the first persons there checking it out for us. And then we will check with everyone before we check in. We will be bringing propane and a propane heater. It should help keep a few of us warm if needed.

Bad News
We're not going to be able to make it. I took the Silver Slug into the shop LAST Tuesday for what should have been a pretty simple thing. Well, to make a long story short, I still don't have it back. We WERE planning to leave today. Even if we get the Silver Slug back today, It would not be fun to try to get ready and start off on a 900+ mile round trip without time to load up and check things out.
So, our camping spot is paid for for Thursday and Friday, feel free to use it.
Have a great time and we hope we'll be able to see you down the road.
Guy and Marian
