Have a great time everyone! We're working hard to get the Caravel ready for the summer, so hopefully soon we'll have free time to camp again!

Hi to all of you in Newport this weekend!
Both Karen and I have battled a cold this week (she's still in bed today as I write this), and we don't want you to take the bug home with you.
Hope you're having a great time, and we can get together soon.

Newport Rally
Thanks to Chris and all the participants--it was so good to see you all again.
Thanks also for putting up with our big baby. I think Pipp had a great time. He ran around most of the afternoon after getting home, but fell asleep on a comfy deck chair about 4:00. He even slept through dinner and is still sleeping. And I thought it was hard on us! Thanks also for rescuing-and delivering- our gray water tank. You guys are great!

Chris, great Rally! Thanks for putting it together. We did not blow our doors off on the way home. Lots of rain and heavy head wind. Thanks to all for being so great. We found the screen on the way home. Also we went over a speed bump and the clearance light starting to work again. So we were able to make it home after dark.

That was a great rally! Everyone really pulled together to make an impromptu Friday night dinner happen when the festival thing didn't work out. NorCal made it in spite of having a rather spectacular incident to tell us about. Pipp entertained everyone with his good natured antics Saturday night. And we stayed up way too late telling poop stories around the campfire - why does it always end with poop stories?
Great rally, everyone! And three cheers for the wagonmaster! Hip hip...

Fab! We had a great time - and uneventful trip home. looking fprward to the next one. Kudos to The Wagon master LOL. Chris - good job!
1st time NW forum rally experiences:
1. We actually burned ALL of CAmpcollectors wood (and road flares).
2. Enjoyed burning spare parts from Chris' (wagon master, sirs') trailer
3. Ran out of merlot (but not till 2 AM).

Thank you all for coming and making my first rally a great success ! I am really glad the weather cooperated. I had a great time. Here are the pictures. I had an uneventful trip home. It did start to rain on me when I left.
Jim, Cheryl and I did make it over to the Wine fest. It wasn't crowded at all. The only thing with doing it on Sunday is that you can't have too many tastes .
On a side note to everyone who waited for the bus on Friday. They were still having troubles getting the busses to show up on time ( or at all ) on Sunday. Jim made a complaint as well as I. I pointed out to the powers at be that they only had three customers from our rally today and could have had three times that number on Friday. Hopefully they will make some changes for next year.
Thanks again to everyone who turned out.
Chris

To Our Fearless Wagonmaster
Great job Chris.....and thanks everyone for adding their own touches to make this a fun rally! You now have what it takes to be a successful rally host! And you are just the person to attend the seafood & wine festival with........being a veteran of many previous events there. We finally made it to the festival Sunday afternoon and had a great time sampling wines and various food booths.
I'm recovering nicely from my "firepit/crock pot" accident.... seeming to have a knack finding something to trip over negotiating between trailers in the dark!
If laughing is healthy for you........we all got a good dose of that at the firesides.........what a hoot!
BTW.......we still haven't found our soup spoon......so if you happen to run across it, let us know.
Can't wait for the next one!
Stay tuned for pics!

NorCal Door incident
In the excitement of our door problem we never got a picture. So I thought I'd do a little quick and dirty Photoshop work to give everyone a better idea of what happened. So here it is.

I guess i should have poked my head into the forums a bit sooner. I am in the middle of my winter hibernation and rarely check into the forums. I just noticed that this rally was going on last week and by then plans were already in place.
Looks like a good time was had by all, Grats Chris, well done. Seafood and Wine fest was one of my favorite festivals back in my roaring 20s . Cant really partake of the offerings anymore like i did back then. I can remember a huge line that took over an hour of waiting in just to get into the festival.
Well, heres to hoping we can make the next one.

Nice pics Chris! Sounds like everyone was having a jolly time, eventhough Janet ran out of Merlot at 2 am. Can't wait to go to the next gathering.

Fyi
I posted a summary of the rally on my blog " Chris' Adventures "
If I left anything out let me know. I think I got it all in there. For those of you who were there. Check out Jonathans' (campcollector) new pic in his profile. You'll get a laugh out of it ! Can I have my picture taken with the next burial ??!!! lol. Too funny.
Thanks Anita for helping me get some good sites for the Rally.
Thank you sir, may I have another ?
Soooo......is anyone thinking of putting another one together before the Silver Falls Rally ? Maybe up in Wa. someplace ??
Chris

There's no one there to administer last rights ! I can just imagine the stench that thing is giving off....... ...... but Jonathan doesn't seem to mind!
As far as our next rally......we've never been to the mt st helens volcanic monument (i'm sure some of you have experienced the ash fallout)......i see there's a lot of camping areas to choose from. Does anyone have a thought about that area for a rally....... Marc.......Kathleen......Mel......Janet.......Step h.....anyone??

Alright! Alright! I will start a new thread to discuss our next rally. Marc is going to Malaysia with his father to some formula 1 race championships or something. Geez! So he won't be available until April. And things are still a bit snowy and mushy here. March isn't it's normal warm up yet. So, anyway.....on to the next thread.
Go here to see where we might go next! Yippee! http://www.airforums.com/forum...way-21169.html
