ah what the hell let's hijack away...

as most of u moss covered north-westerners know...

it appears there is no plan for a beverly beach bash this year...

unless planning is gonna happen very late.

i think j and g are busy, tired, busy, tired and taking a rallyplanning break.

SO i am REALLY interested in exploring and brainstorming a fall rally of some sort.

-on the beach or inland
-oregon or southwash
-state park or other area that can accommodate this group of misfits...
-LATE august or september (but not labor day)
-october would be almost impossible 4me this year.
-thursday till sunday (but some of us always come earlynstay longer)
-typical forum style...
......(a few group meals very loosely planned, a ritual sacrifice, and the usual nude game of scrabble)
-and so on.

nothing can compare to the beach bashes (70+ last year was mindblowing) and in NO way am i suggesting we try that...

but a rally would be fun?

i did scan the b.beach reservations and starting right after labor day g loop is pretty open, as are other spots in the park.

as much as i like bb, OTHER oregon coastal parks are mighty fine too...

??yes/no/dates/location??

since i'm on the wheat coast, leading the charge for a group 2,000 miles away, is a little stretch...

but i am planning a norcal/oregon/wash loop soon...

and DO wanna c some 'streamer buds...

so lets explore this IF others are interested.

cheers

2Air,

We are interested! Naturally! Late August or Sept might work for us... we are open as long as we can afford to drive there! Labor Day isn't an option for us really either... I am sure we can find a place to camp! BB is great, but most of Oregon's campsights are pretty good! Do you have a favorite?

Sorry Darol, not meaning to hijack here....

Hopefully the "old folks" will come to their good senses and sell the trailer to you!

Claudia

2Air, I popped this post out of the 'beaten down by old people' thread into it's own, because it will get more attention that way, and it's a great idea to plan something for fall. I can't wait to see what you organize!

Speaking of rallys and snot nosed geezers (sorry Darol) Since my indoctrination/initiation into AS rallys occurred at Silver Falls (Oregon) hosted by none other than Darol, let's do another Silver Falls Rally...

No, not that one in Oregon... let's try this one located in central Washington: Facility Details - SILVER FALLS GROUP SITE (WA), Wa - Recreation.gov
Available in late August, but not early September. We haven't been there, but have been wanting an excuse to try it out.

Or a spot up here in the nor'eastern corner:
Camping Trips - Sullivan Lake - ROUTEDESCRIPTION
Multiple campgrounds on or near the lake:
Colville National Forest Campgrounds

Early/Mid Sept could work for us

Hi 2Air,

Haven't seen you since Area 33, hope all's well.

New grand daughter born yesterday -- everybody's well -- currently tied up but early to mid Sept might work. Oregon coast is my favorite and I could bring my boat & rings for some crabbing. If you want some best tides picking for the crabs, I can do that once we know where (Wrote a little diddy that does some interpretation for picking dates). Our other son & family is coming home from Africa, probably mid Sept -- we'll be tied up then too to some degree (3 grand kids there). If it fits, we'd love to join in. I'll watch this thread to see if it works out.

Anybody mind if we bring along some tag-a-longs?

Walt

2air - you're always welcome on the Oregon Coast

Good to know you're thinking us on here on 'the edge of the country!"

Beachside State Park

Hubby and I camped at Beachside in the "yurt loop" (sites 60-82?) last year with our old 1973 12' Scotsman, it's just steps from the beach. This was actually our first time to camp with hookups! I was sitting at campfire the first afternoon when a 1969 Land Yacht backed into the space behind us, I had to work up my cool to hit them up for a tour... of course I lusted after it all weekend.

Anyways it's really a great campground, the beach there is awesome. MidSeptember to anytime in October would be great for us...

Hi ALL, Joanna and I had such a great time with many of you over the Fourth we would love to do some more RVing with you. Something between the 9th and 23rd of Sept would work out fine for me since Joanna will be off in London having fun with her daughter. Something with hookups would be nice this time or at least a park where I could just turn a spigot and get water :-D

Rally

I would love to go to another rally sometime in October, if there is one. My boys and I had a great time at BBB last year (unfortunately our time there was limited), but I would like to bring my wife and daughter this year as well.

This Nor-easter is interested

I'm currently in the state of Washington & headed to the WBCCI rally in Pendleton,OR. It ends mid September. As long as we're away from New York, we might as well enjoy it.

Hi 2 Air, et all; We are planning on being on the Oregon Coast for our 3rd annual post-fire-season Ore. coast tour in October. We would love to attend our first ever rally. Please keep in mind that we are lowly motorhome owners and we'd love to meet some other Airstreamers. Our little tin shack doesn't look so much different from yours, or the '65 20 foot globetrotter we used to have that Phil wore out dragging all over the northwest. Please don't start any forest fires and maybe we can be off work in late September. Regards, Phil and Sam. Krassel Helibase, Krassel, Idaho
