OK, Larry and I are getting excited about Alum Creek State Park and now I am thinking about what food I want to pack for a nice fall camp out.
At the last little mini-rally, Dave and Dave, both cooked over the campfire and all of us added other items and it was a very nice dinner. And did I mention that Dave and Fritzi made the best corn bread over the campfire?? Wow!
Shall we have a potluck of some sort on Sat.?? Or maybe we want to cook over the campfire and do a sort of camp "stone soup", or maybe camp chili over the fire? Anyone else got some good ideas??

Hi Lou – Do you know which area of the park you’re planning to camp in? Area 1 is the pet section and has water front sites; area 2 is non pet and has a lot of wooded sites. - Terry
We are going to try for Area 1 since most of the folks who are responding seem to have pets.
Sites are assigned upon arrival. The first one there will mention that there will be ??? (how many) units that would like to be together, so that they will try and keep us together. Reservations can be made, but they are NON-site specific and assigned when you arrive anyway.
We are hoping some more will join us, and that we will have good weather! Will we see you there? If you can't camp, perhaps you can join us on a daytrip and perhaps a campfire dinner??

Hi Lou – Thanks for the update. Alum Creek is in a first come first server mode now so you can grab any site you like when you get there, but holding sites for others can be a problem. If you planning on staying in the pet section take a look at Rings L14 – L19 & K15 – K22. Both have great views of the water. If you will have children with you Ring K8 – K16 has a playground in the center.
We would have joined you had we known about the outing before we committed to another group at Delaware State Park. But since the two parks are so close together we are planning on stopping in to visit.
If you’re interested in visiting a fabulous country sausage mart consider going to Mom Wilson’s. Brenda and I will be going on Saturday and could show you the way if you’re interested. http://www.dispatch.com/business-sto...928-E1-02.html
We are always looking for a good day trip to keep us in mind.
Thanks for the info. We have never been to Alum Creek and that info will be helpful. We called the park and the rangers at the office said that they would put us on their calendar and do their best to get us in a cluster. But we will just have to see. The gal that we talked to also said that she did not think that it would be a problem on that weekend.
As far as I know there are not any children coming so far. We do have some furry family members showing up, so that is why we chose section one to try.
So far we have not had anyone plan a day trip to go anywhere. Last time some of us got together we just had a blast sitting around the campfire visiting and doing "open house" visits to all of the Airstreams.
We hope that you will visit if you can. I am sure that you will be able to spot some of those ASs. Larry and I have an Argosy 6.7 Minuet, which is a "painted" little lady.
Sorry that we did not know about anything going on at Delaware, or we might have joined you there.
Lou and Larry

Wow! Did you see the size of the NorCal Rally at Lake San Antonio? They have 41 units showing up. The Buckeye state is looking a little weak. Oh the shame. http://www.airforums.com/forum...2-a-23249.html
Don't know what I did wrong, but you can go there without the link.
On the Forums page go to the QuickLinks at the left and find the title Upcoming Rallies. You will find ours listed as Ohio-Alum Creek Oct. 20-22. Click on there and it will take you to the place to sign up.
Well, Ohioans will just have to get going on this!!! If you look up how many Ohio members are signed up it is amazing!!! I don't know where they all are. Maybe they are just signed up and not looking at all of the amazing info that they can get at this site....or maybe they are lurkers!

Sue and I will be attending but will be going to the OSU football game on Saturday. This is likely to not allow us to participate in the dinner Sat evening. We are planing to arrive on Thursday afternoon.
Looking forward to meeting those who will be there.
I don't know what Indian Summer soup is! What ingredients are there?
Yum....COLD, crisp apple cider and donuts!!!
Lou
My Indian summer soup is cheddar cheese based. I'll smoke some chicken breast to add to it and a bunch of veggies. I'll bring the stuff to make s'mores too for after dinner! --dave
