Hey all,
Let's just set the date for Oct 20-22. Friday-Sunday. This is usually the best weekend in Ohio for watching all the leaves turning colors. We were in the Hocking Hills four years ago for our honeymoon and it was spectacular. The scenery was awesome, and their were many small antique shops/flea markets/etc. to check out. The wife pretty much has her heart set on returning there, so I guess we will be leaning that way. What do you all think?
Dan- It's a bit of a drive, but it would be great if you can make it. I'm willing to take a trip up there and give you a hand some weekend soon to get your AS road ready if need be. It really only need three things to travel - The right hitch setup, good running gear and lights. (I must have gotten those things right on ours, as we've put about 2500 miles on it since June without any problems). I'd suggest hitching up and taking yours for a ride around town and on the freeway, you'll get a feel for what needs adjusted or repaired, if anything, quickly.
Hope to hear for you all soon! --dave and fritzi
Wish We could make it. I'm sure the company and the scenery will be fantasic. My work schedule just wont allow it. I will try to make any get togethers I can so lets keep posting and trying to stay active together.

Welcome, Anne!
We are trying real hard to gather a group of fellow Ohioans and go camping. So are we had one "rally" and a Mini "rally" in our driveway. We had a great time. Airstreamers are not only good campers but truly friendly, helpful folks.
Keep us posted on your progress. We did the axles on our Minuet. It was not that bad.

...I created a blog at www.thehoho.blogspot.com ! Not much there yet, but expect to see stories about me losing my leg hairs lighting what was the furnace.....
Dan,
Can't wait to hear that story! We are more comfortable using electric heat when we are out and have hookups. You can use the propane for back up. If you have electric...you don't need no stinkin' furnace! LOL You are welcome to camp out in the driveway for your practice run!

I'll be boondockin' from Thursday night to Sunday at the Lorain County Fairgrounds next week. That will be my first 'practice' run! I might take you up on the driveway offer soon though.
Are the flames supposed to be on the outside of the combustion chamber? Hmmmm. I almost had to use the vintage fire extinguisher.
I'll need to call up Guiness Records. I pulled a wasps nest the size of a shoe from inside the furnace. I had to break it (the nest) to get it out. The pilot light feed tube had a "crack" in it 4 inches long by about a quarter of the tube diameter.
Pictures to come!

What takes you to the fairgrounds? The fairgrounds do have electricity hook ups available. That is about 10 min. from our house. If you need help let us know. Sounds like you are having LOTS of fun!

Hi! Welcome to the Forums. We hope that you will be able to join us. We are waiting for Dave and Fritzi to let us know about a campground at Hocking Hills. Hopefully, they are finding out about the details and will let us know soon. Larry and I are planning to be there. It is a great area!

Anyone know if there was another "rally" in Ohio this weekend. Spotted 2 Airstreams and a good looking Argosy running together on the I270 outerbelt in Columbus this morning - headed north/west....?
