Which AMA event will you be at? We'll probably be there for both if all goes well

Bump it up

I thought I would bump this to the top, in hopes that some of the folks who were thinking about coming will shake it up and sign up. The countdown begins and we have 13 days to go!!!!!

Rereading this

I was just re-reading all of the pages of the thread here and there were a few folks at the beginning that said they would like to come that have not spoken up. I hope they are still planning on coming???

It is about time for us to start thinking about what foods we want to bring for the potluck, isn't it? I do crock pot sloppy joes that are pretty good. Anyone got any great ideas for a theme, or are we just going to wing it?

Ready to go!

Hi Lou & Larry! Brenda and I drove up to Findley State Park Sunday to get a feel for the lots, and to see which fire ring would host the most people. Lots 186, 187, and 188 have a great tree canopy that could be used for the campfire and potluck. We also took pictures of lots 186 to 191 and will send them to anyone interested.

We like sloppy joes and have been trying to think of what would complement them for the potluck. Since cooking is not much fun on hot days how about doing a finger food potluck? We could set up a taco assembly line with the basic items such as beef, chicken, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and cheese. Someone else could bring a chilled watermelon and chips etc... Another item could be nachos and a large can of nacho cheese to warm up in a crock pot. Just some ideas. - Terry

Pot Luck

If anyone is interested in BBQ I have a party sized smoker that'll make excellent BBQ. It takes most of the day to smoke the food, but it only needs tended to once in a while, and is delicious! I can smoke ribs, brisket, chickens, fish, or just about anything else. I'd just nned a head count and what everyone would like for the meat. We have a good butcher nearby.
Also, I just got a new cookbook called "Fifty from the trail" that has a bunch of really good recipes for camping. If nothing else, I'll picvk something from it to make. --dave

Thumbs up BBQ sounds great!

Dave - The BBQ is a great idea. If you bring the smoker I'll bring some chicken. Add four to your head count, and let us know what we can do to help. - Terry

Chix

Chicken sounds great to us too! Add the two of us to your headcount. Let us know what else you need.

I will throw the sloppy joes together and we can do those too. Seems to me that we ate really gooooooood the last time we all got together! Larry is really looking forward to it! LOL

Lou and Larry, I think maybe Rhonda already told ya, that we had committed to Ralphies X-mas in July back at shakedown. I am really bummed that we are going to miss this one, but I guess we will see you at the LPPI again this year? I hope we can catch up with the Northern Ohioans sometime soon.

BBQ works for us. We'll bring along some county ribs. Tacos sound like a good idea too. Macaroni salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, anything cold.

7 Days to Findley!

As of 9:30 PM tonight there are still sites available at Findley State Park. Lots 192, 193 and 184 are closest to the loop where the potluck will be, but there are a lot of open sites.

There are enough thumbs up for the taco assembly line to be added to the potluck. This does not mean it will be safe to get between Brenda and the BBQ chicken! - Terry

Site #172

Hello everyone, I reserved site #172 because they said it was a level shaded site. I had #184 but they said it was open sun and not very level. Are we way out of this loop and should we switch in the AM. I dont know how the pot luck thing works but we'll bring something to the table. Thanks Robert
