We are at Casini!
Kinda cool today. Glad that I brought firewood. Big Dee arrived just before us.

Hi, i am excited to meet everyone at the Airstream rally this weekend. Is the potluck on Friday night or Saturday??? i'm trying to plan my grocery shopping now, as my other car is a 737 and I won't get home until late on thursday, with no hopes of shopping (for groceries) in airports!!My poor airstream is in the intensive care unit getting all her kinks, un-kinked (at least all the kinks I can afford to pay for), so hopefully she will be set to roll on friday morning! see you there on Friday, and if you see someone hoplessly trying to back into F6, its me! maggie

Hello Maggie,
Cant wait to meet you too! If your other car is a 737 then you should have no problem with the airstream.. but just in case all you have to do is hollar and there will be plenty of volunteers to help you out. The potluck is saturday at 6:00 pm sharp. Everything else doesnt require a clock.
Cheers Vinnie

hmmmmmm, let see. I have the day off, wife gets off work at noon. The 5 yr old gets out of school at 12:30. Pick up 1 yr old at 1. Wife shows up at 1:30 at the house. Wife runs around with her head cut off trying to figure out what she is forgetting to bring. Thats about another hour. So, we should be heading out the door at 2:30. That would put us at Casini fashionably late, but not as late last year.

If it was in the middle of the night, the party was still going strong in our site.

Plus, the tug backs up the 737, you don't have to do it!
BTW, if you have seen the JFK incident with A380 clipping a CRJ tail, don't do this with your Airstream. I can't help, but there are lots of experienced backer-uppers.

Counting Down!!
Well, I'll still be semi-reitred and semi-working, but only for another 2 weeks.. (Pause for laughter...)
Really looking forward to moving the Condoluminum off its pads and rolling for first time since October.. Sigh...
Great to hear Jeff and Kathy and Colin are going to try and make it.. If I fail to get to Forum fast enough, the wait list for full hookup sites now is headed by Pink followed by Toddster.. IF for any reason you are going to have to cancel, you can send them a direct private message and let them know to coordinate the instant cancel/rebook over the phone so Casini doesn't give the spot to a non-Airstream...
We should be there by 2-ish on Friday.. Two different weather forecasts are calling for high seventies or mid seventies, and no rain in the forecast.. Thanks Vinnie!!
The Margarita Ball is packed, and salad fixings assembled, and we've cashed in some bonds to pay for gas for the Excursion... Bottle of Happy Camper Chardonney is chillin' and we are ready to rumble out the River Road to Casini...
Several last minute reminders:
1. DO NOT let GPS or map try to lead you over Route 116 coming from south.. A mudslide blocked half the road, and before the blockage it was a motorcycle road.... Take RIver Road exit from Hwy 101 to the west from north of Santa Rosa..
2. It is OK to knock and ask to see someone's trailer from inside... All are different and most of us are happy to show off the interiors..
3. There are a variety of sources for listings of things to do.. Sonoma County Visitor's Bureau is a good start. Among the options are: Golf at Northwoods, Wine Tasting/Tours at Korbel or Kendall Jackson or 30 smaller wineries, whale watching or fishing at Bodega Bay, Fort Ross State Park and Sea Ranch on the coast, beaches and abalone diving, Antiquing in Guerneville or Santa Rosa or Petaluma, Red & Black French Cheese factory south of Petaluma, Air Museum at Charles Schultz Santa Rosa Airport, and so on.. We may just bring books and a pillow to sit in sun and rest....
4. At least for now, dinner is planned for 6 on Saturday.. For those cooking hot dishes, please allow enogh time to be done and ready to serve a few minutes before 6.. Once the group starts lining up and moving along buffet line, if you're late, you may win the "Leftovers" Derby...
5. And even though there will be ~70 people, if each guest brings enough food to serve 70, there will be a lot of leftovers.. Remember that people will sample small quantities of a lot of items, and plan accordingly.. Best advice is to plan for enough to feed 20 or 25 people well (except for Vinnie..)
