We have one cat (of 4) who looks like a football with legs, she could be a tasty braised dish: at least that is what SHE thinks: she's the classic scairdey-cat, especially when it is around our meal time.

re: Airslide's beef and BEAN chili verde: Vinnie: that is cruel: you'll need to distribute explosive vapor detectors: I predict there will be at least 2-3 small explosions overnight, hopefully no serious damage. I'll be using Beano to help insure a continued happily married life. Either that, or a tent.

Vinnie,

We will be making the red chile again, I keep trying to get it right.

Got the trailer stocked with wine and gin.

Hope the A/C units get fixed in time. Have to call the dealer again on Monday.

Regards all,

Ken and Shanah

@colekrc: When I did my Spring start-up one of my a/c's wouldn't fire up: the fan wouldn't run, motor locked up. I was lucky: pulled the cover & the motor moved with a slight hand push, now appears okay. I hope yours is as easy to solve.

It took about 5+ hours of cleaning & other prep's though, now I am READY for a Thursday AM excursion north, may have to stop at an Oakland winery to pick up my products...whatever will I do with that wine??? (I only have 2 corkscrews in the moho drawer...)

Might bring a cat or 2, it would be their first camp-out, still working that issue.

Pink are you going to give us a demo of the camping Dutch oven? And, gluten free, we all thank you.

Terra Yacht, winery in Oakland? Any one heard of the Wine Barn in Santa Rosa, not to be missed.

Cliff,
The problem was not that the unit did not work, the shroud came off while towing ( I never saw it). The dealer who worked on it last agreed that they probably (could have Etc) reinstalled it improperly. So we split -- I bought a new shroud for the one that stayed (but had some aging cracks and the dealer bought the replacement for the one that disappeared.) Seemed fair to me.
they say the Queen is ready to roll, and the boss has kindly accepted my absence -- so its time to go shopping for chile supplies.

Regards, See you all soon.

wineries...in Oakland? There is now a small network of Urban Wineries. On a short tour we started with Urban Legends, then went down the road to JC Cellars and Dashe Cellars. These are all in Oakland, down near Jack London Square, make and age wine on the premises.

Through the tube into Alameda and Rosenblum is on the old Navy base. Kent Rosenblum's new venture is down near the flight line, called Rockwall in a hangar with doors that are larger than your house (about 30' by 40', EACH; 2 of them). Rockwall also has several smaller wineries, kind of startups, that pour at their tasting bar and make wine on the premises. We hooked up with Ehrenberg for some great Petite Sirah's and Zinfandels. I would be remiss to not mention St. Georges Spirits near Rockwall, making brandy, absinthe with wormwood and several other tasty items.

These wineries are also winning medals at an accelerated rate.

There's also at least one winery on the east side of Berkeley near the sake factory. (I sense a theme here: tasty adult beverages).

Some urban tasty samples will be available Friday PM, not sure what I'm bringing at this point, but its all vegetarian, no meat wine or bacon-flavored vodka.

come on cliff---

give it up Cliff

I've yet to see any vines growing on any of the bridges or on the dirt anywhere in the bay area. Those imposter wineries import the fruit from the real appelation area's then claim stardom to their urban eco system, give it up, just another scheme to put guys like me ( varmit control engineer ) without tactical advantages.
as for accelerated rates, I can control that anytime something is in the crosshairs, which leads me right into scoping out some meatless zins. good grief, I think I'll just switch to ouzo.
