This sounds like a blast. And we'll be far enough along in our refurbishment that we'll be ready for some (more) camping. We're going to Death Valley the weekend but other than that, it's been all work and no play in our Tin Pickle.

Is there room for another? I'll call Casini (yes, with one "s") tomorrow and see what's open.

We don't need hookups, but we don't have a gray water tank, being a '71. We've only done one overnight in a campground. Otherwise it's just been private land and Burning Man (where we dump our gray water in the evap pond) in the year we've had her.

Is it okay to have a 5 gallon bucket to catch what little gray water we generate or do we have to spring for a real Blue Boy? We haven't finished the shower yet so we can easily haul our gray water home at this point.

So many questions, and I haven't even started planning what to bring for food. Oh, my.

Welcome Webspinner,

Casini has tons of spots. I know the full hookup are all gone. How ever near the full hookups is Row F which is really close to party central. As for the 5gln bucket, I would suggest asking Casini when you call.

Keep us posted on your location. C ya at Casini

I won't be bringing my 'Blue boy' for this trip, BUT, if you need it I can for you to use. Ask Casini if they permit grey on the ground.

OK, we're in! Mark us down for space 98.

The full hookup and F spaces are all full, so we're close by on the river side and hoping the river doesn't rise toooooo much. BTW, Casini doesn't mind our 5 gallon bucket for gray water in case anyone else is in the same situation.

Bart (barts) and I are looking forward to this.

Now to plan food, and drinks, and I need to get cracking on finishing the construction and upholstery for the second dinette and maybe Bart can get the LED lights in the kitchen now that he's got all the wiring up to snuff, and.... so many things to do!

Nothing like a deadline to get one motivated.

I think the older rigs are always a (fun) work in progress, and we look forward to seeing yours! We've got some stuff to do to ours before then as well... What LED interior lights did you get?

We're doing spotlights and some indirect ceiling light strips. For the spots we have these: Amazon.com: MR16 LED Bulb Mounting Bracket for Recess Light Fixture, 2006: Electronics and MR15 warm white floods: Amazon.com: MR16 bi-Pin 15 SMD LED Wide Angle Flood Light 12 Volt AC/DC, warm white, 1228WW: Home Improvement

For the indirect lighting, Bart is designing a support to run along the center of the ceiling that lets LED light strips shine up and out and reflect off the ceiling. You'll be able to see at Casini whether or not it was a success.

Working on the trailer is at least half the fun, which is a good thing for us. We spend a heck of a lot more time tinkering on the thing than camping in it. Both are rewarding.

Hey webspinner!, now I really hope to sneak down to Casini to see you guys and strategize for "Airstreameri and Geologists". Looks like I'll have to throw an alarm clock into the Burningman 2011 thread and wake things up, we'll need to submit our application for theme camp by end of April.
no, the evap pond won't work this year at Casini I suspect.

Bart and I would love to see you there, Perry. There would be time for some creative brainstorming, assisted by sufficient ethanolic lubrication, of course.

If what I hear from last year at Casini is half true, we'd start with an evap pond and end up with a lap pool. I don't mind a bit of rain but, even as a balance to Burning Man, I have my limits.
