We have a spot. It's up hwy 108, just below Sonora Pass. Dardenelle Resort. They empty out nearly completely after the labor day holiday. They have alot of full hook up sites, and sites are set up more rustic. It's in the woods, streams, hiking, a store, a full bar and part time restaurant. They are dog friendly and don't mind a good party. Eyeballing maybe September 7 till ???? I know this isn't really good for schoolchildren, but the weekend is good.

This sounds like some fun. Is it going to be an impromptu or will you be organizing it?

Ok so there seems to be a bit of interest for a delta rally...I am happy to put one together talk was end of August. Leo and I are the proud new owners of the Old Isleton speed shop in downtown . You can't miss it as you have to drive past on hwy 160. I can scout out the best Rv resort and we can host a meal that's convenient and cocktails etc. the warehouse was the first dodge dealership this side of Chicago in the 30's. I will be restoring trailers here the first being the 47 CW Clipper! We will be moving some vintage neon signs in and vintage motorcycles. Our goal is to set up a vintage museum ! There's wine tasting and the old delta towns to explore so if there's interest I will proceed ! I believe the vintage trailer club is at tower park resort the end of august so I can check on that as well. Enjoy the Cassini after glow!

Since there is interest, I will give them a call and check on availability. We go every year that time and pretty much have the place to ourselves. I will start a new thread on it soon.

We really enjoyed the rally! It is always fun to see old friends and make new friends. The pot luck was great as always, congrats to all the cooks. Thanks to everyone sharing their pics with us too. A rally in August by water would be fun also. See y'all in Jackson if not before....!!!

Coincidence??? Thumbing through the mail after our return produced a post card from Delta Shores Resort on Brannan Island Road, offering 3 days & 2 nights of free camping. This appears to be some kind of membership deal so there's probably a sales pitch like a time share: www.vistaresorts.net could be worth talking to them though.

Sammie was pretty good so we can do some more long weekends as long as the drive is not more than 2-3 hours; his back-seat-driver yowling has to be time limited.

Hey Cliff Yes Leo and I are actually members there and the sister resort on Putah creek which we love! THey are almost giving away memberships(heavily discounted ours was less than half) and have a new member guy who just called me to introduce. Soooo I can look into an Airstream shabang there and see what they have to offer. They sometimes give a free weekend if you listen to the 45 min speel...Group speel?
Any input?

Wow, that sounds great! I love taking route 160 to Sacramento, the back way, and checking out the little delta towns. What a cool place for a rally.

'COOL' that's the key word there. Remember folks.....it gets HOT, sometimes REALLY HOT in the valley during the summer months. Lynn and I can sometimes be found in the mountains or on the coast then.
