We're pretty much ready to hit the pavement. Got the loaner kayak loaded for Vinnie, and all the other boating stuff in the burb.Went out to the hangar and procured my 20' X 30' clear tarp, just in case it rains.Loaded every length of rope, cordage, twine I could find.anyway, we are planning on a good time even if we sober up.
for those that do not know me , I'll be the guy NOT wearing no stinkin name tag.
oh, almost forgot to mention, investigated the wiper non-op condition. appears to be a loose connection somewhere, works when it wants to or when the burb hits a bump or undulation. So I went and purchased some cheap blades just in case things start to operate reliably.between the bumps, spastic wipers and hwy 80 undulations Ihope not to spill beer all over me on the drive tomorrow.
so only one person liked the opera video, that's sad, guess I won't pe posting any more good stuff here.

I just re-checked our Casini reservations we have site 125, but it looks like Flying Cloud has it too, ---hmmmm we might be a little crowded there. I hope the reservation system didn't blow it, we made our the first day they came up on line.
Hopefully this was just a typo and we don't have a problem!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone there!! We have an Easy-up canopy that we are bringing, so hopefully that will scare off the rain!

Hey, Martha....stake the easyup down here at Casini. I 'lost 2 of those to Casini sudden breezes. 1st one lifted off and cleared our trailer. The second I staked but the wind shredded the cloth. I would stake yours but be ready to fold it if the wind comes. Do bring the SW peanuts!

Also, I note that Maggiefoss and 1953 Flying are both listed in space #125.
Did Casini double book or did someone make a typo?

I have only added people who have given their info since this list was started. So people who gave their site info before the list was started are on Jeff's map, but not yet on this list. I'll be happy to add anyone.
I'm not trying to be over-organized, just clear. I don't want anyone feeling left out, but I don't have the time to comb through all the thread pages at the moment (I have some sort of trip to prep for coming up this weekend, it seems).

Hi Barbie, Are you bringing your spinning wheel??? If so, you 'd better bring a canopy or borrow ours, if it rains....because doesn't the wool shrink in the rain???
Looking forward to seeing you and Bart!! (and everybody else, of course!!)

I'll have my wheel and will be spinning under my new awning. ( Tin Pickle Adventures: New Awning - sewing and metal repair)
It takes more than rain to shrink wool, though, otherwise there would be a lot of shrunken sheep out on the hills.

A beautiful morning on the Ranch.
I had to do my morning duty and take Lizzy out to do her 'duty'. So I grabbed my small camera, cuz I can take one handed piccys with that one, and we headed for the river. A few trailers with yaks down there and appeared to be 'in place' for a bit of a stay. Nice.
The Ranch crew are busy sprucing the place up....gotta pass 'our' our approval. They are installing more campfire rings with the adjustable grills. They are set in/on concrete. Apperently they did not want to ask me to move our car as they finished up the ring where Vinnie will be and started on the ring in the site next to us. I think the concrete will be set enough before any of you can scribe your names in them.

Semi-Final Casini Checklist..
Thanks to Neil for his advance scouting duties, and photos of green and wet Casini area... As a checklist kind of guy (pilot-type..) I thought I'd include a few final items to check before heading for the river...
1. No matter WHAT the map or GPS suggests, the only safe and sane way to the Casini Ranch is to take CA 101 to "River Road" exit north of Santa Rosa, and drive west along the river (mostly north shore..) to the Duncan's Mills turn onto Moscow Rd.. The only exception is if you are coming from the Sea Ranch...
2. Bring food for Saturday eve, plus possible snacks for cocktail party Friday evening, as well as perhaps an extra bottle of wine or beverage to share.. We are planning to bring Margarita Ball again...
3. If you have an extra folding table that can support food for pot-luck, bring that along as well, since Casini picnic tables will be dedicated to seating for dinner..
4. Firewood is also appreciated, since there may be several group campfires, and it looks like the hot dry weather won't be an issue this year...
5. Folding chairs are helpful for you and visitors, and they'll find their way home by Sunday morning...
Looking forward to launch Friday morning!!

I stopped the guy installing the fire pits but he says he's not to disturb any camp site occupants. I didn't bring fire wood thinking I'd buy it at the store. I found that it's pricy there. $7+ per soft wood bundle and double that for hard wood. Last year I did see a place or to along the River Road selling in the $5 range so any of you driving in that route and wish some fire wood stop and get it.
River road way is indeed the way. However, the route in from Petaluma (116?) is doable and nice. A few years ago I followed DG (he knows from experience that if I lead........who knows where we end up ) that route, and of course when you are following someone it is easier and it was a nice ride.
I came in after putting up my flags (I got more) and Lynn asks, "can you do me a favor"? "Uh, yeah I suppose, what"? "I want to re do the shelf paper and could you remove the old stuff for me"? Well folks the old stuff was contact liner from 46 years ago. It was artfully installed plus a spilled can of 'Prayer' candle wax. The wax had eeked is way into the corners of that shelf from a number of hot summer days. It asks a question why? Why shelf paper especially one installed it is almost never seen again. Must be a woman 'thing'. Well, I got all of the old stuff up and out little torn piece at a time. I began to step down from the stool and Lynn was handing me the new shelf liner........at least it is the non skid stuff which raises another queery....the way our cabinets are fully packed what's gonna skid? Must be a woman thing.

Neil;
put a smile on your face and remove the hearing aids, I'll be there tomorrow to rescue you!!! just relax man.
I don't have any firewood to bring either, just remembered I need to make a b,double e,double r, u, n. found some highly rated stuff at walgreens, yup. believe it, consumer reports liked it. so I'm all over it for the drive and the weekend.
Ditto about the driving routes, each has its merit, none are difficult if your brain is turned on.
