WOW....WIND and RAIN BUFFETTED us at Bodega last night. This beautiful sunny but breezy morning I had to go out and round up some outside items. Everything got moved from it's placements yesterday. Our 5 gal water container (empty) I believe is on it's way to Japan....a reverse tsunami trip....because I found one of Lynn's pinwheels in the ice plants at waters edge. The Airstream was-a-rockin'....put your 'assumptions' back into your heads...from the wind's buffeting. Lynn did not sleep. The noise didn't bother me as I take my hearing aids out when sleeping....and boring conversations. Anyway it IS a beautiful morning if not breezy. Lizzy, (dog) did jump up in my bed and shook all night.
We are awaiting for our sea food tour guides, Warbler5 to arrive today.

Neil

Too much to do in a weekend (and the days leading up to)!
I'm sure that all of your gamesmanship needs will find interest with 50+ trailers a-coming I have a bocce ball set, although they are the bean hard bag type. It was a mistake gift from our daughter but I did not exchange them because then our grandsons could play bocce ball in our long hall in our home and I wouldn't be patching holes in sheetrock. ....and probably a 'safe' game around an Airstream rally.

AWESOME video. Lynn and I watched it while at our pre-Casini camp in Bodega Bay. The contrast from our setting to the bike racing is 'night and day'. We lived in the '80s in Washoe Valley which is west of Virginia City. However, our favorite 'path' between home and that 'City' was and old mining/jeep trail. Looks like some of your race was held on that trail. Our old '62 IH 4x4 was not as fast as the bikes but the comfort level seemed the same. We both enjoyed your professional video very much WELL DONE. Thanks for sharing.

First timers...

Complete newbies here. First trailer, first trip and now first rally! We've been lurking here for over a year (wow you all are amazing), made our purchase a couple months ago and now the Airstream gods are aligning stars so we'll be in the area during what looks like a great rally! Please go easy on us.

See you Friday night...

Jay,

Welcome to the forum and the rally. Please post your site number so Jeff can add you to the map. This is a great group of folks and I am sure you will have a great time. There is only one rule at these Airforum rallies.... "Don't be late to the potluck on Friday, we want to make sure we still have room on our plates to try what you brought" . All kidding aside, we are glad to have you join us!

Woohooo! I just finished my last bits of work! Now, it's rally prep time! John is reassembling the gaucho tonight, he just updated the fusebox and power converter. I'm putting fresh sheets on the bed, fresh towels in the cupboard and getting things in order.
A nap under my awning is all I can think about. I'm almost giddy. Thursday can't get here soon enough!

What does everyone usually eat at the potluck besides Spam?

Welcome, Jay and Alison!

The Saturday dinner potluck is wide open as far as what you want to bring.

The Friday gathering is even less organized. Bring finger food and something to drink to wherever people seem to be gathering. At least that's how it has seemed from our Friday evening arrival perspective. If anyone has any additions/corrections, please let us know.

We just gotta finish loading the trailer, and replace one peice of trim on the fridge (aftermath of the Geode rally). Then we are outta here!

Our plan is to leave Bakersfield mid morning on Wednesday, and get to the campground Wednesday night. We'll see how it goes, we can always stop if we run into traffic or get tired.

See everone soon

We are under a siege....

.....from VERY strong winds here at Bodega Bay. A beautiful sunny day but WINDY! Warbler5, T-square plus a newcomer from Maine. She brought her new Fling Cloud across this country and met Margo and Jane (T-square) recently and was invited along with them to here and then to Casini. We were introduced...and I did the 'things' to remember her name like 'repeat her name...etc. but still forgot. She is on the far right of this picture. Anyway ALL the said mentioned here are in this picky except your photographer...me. If this wind doesn't blow us too far south we may just make it up to Casini on Thursday. The remainder of these folks here say they will come on Friday.

I'm ready for my surprise gift too oh I mean our rig is already packed and ready, just this thing called a "job" seems to be blocking my departure until Friday
