I hope it isn't one of those less-than-good-looking Ford vans. The roof they added was not very attractive.

I'm looking forward to seeing it! I've been contemplating changing from my Class A to a smaller version. Can't wait! Do you have any pics?
Have you started a thread about it? That would be a good idea for general support.

Neil,

Sorry, I haven't been on the forum for a while and just saw your post, thanks for asking. You know when you are going into the hospital too much when you get to the Pre-Op room and they all know you on a first name basis. But yes, there was a lot of flirting going on.... Besides, I know who really runs the show, its the nurses, not the docs!

They did a bilateral tongue biopsy with tissue taken from both the right and left side of the tongue and left and right side of the floor of the mouth. The biopsy went okay. They went a lot deeper than the previous one and found a fair amount of necrotic tissue (not so good but definitive of a problem either). Because the sample edges were not clearly defined they were not able to do a "wet read" on the tissue samples during the surgery. I should get the pathology results when I see the doctor next Thursday on December 6th. I am still having difficulty talking and eating is a challenge so my weight is continuing to drop, I lost another 4-5 pounds this week. Got to get back to eating so I can enjoy all of the goodies at the Saturday Pot Luck at Casini!

On a happier note ...
Becky had a surprise 60th Birthday party for me on Saturday, November 24th (before the surgery). It was huge! There were over 100 friends and family who came from all over the country including our 2 grand daughters (10 and 7) with their dad and step-mom from east coast! I had absolutely no clue what was going on and they really caught me by surprise. My birthday is coming up next Wednesday December 5th, so a party in November was the last thing on my mind. We had a lot of fun, and since we started at 4:00 in the afternoon, it didn't go on too late into the evening past my bed time. She had the party at the South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club (the friendliest yacht club in Marina del Rey) where we keep our C-15 sail boat and do most of our racing from. It was the perfect venue for the party with a great sunset view over the water. Best of all, when we were done, a bunch of our club members helped clean up before we went home! Our grand daughters (and parents) had to leave the next day, so it was great to share the excitement with them.

See you at Casini,

I know what you mean...upon my 3rd 'visit' to the pre-op room within one year 6+ years ago my first surgery surgeon was there for his current patient, spotted me and came to my bed and asked of why I was in for the 3rd time. He 'repaired' 5 of my cervical discs the year before. I was in for my 2nd hip replacement since then. Yes the nurses remember you and are just wonderfull and help to minimize your tension you may have for your proceedure. These nurses are special. I will keep you in my happy thoughts.....and Happy Birthday......young man.

Hi all... happy birhtday to you Scott... hope all your results are fine...
No Vinnie, It's not the Sprinter (I'm to poor for those!!) Sorry Cliff, it's the less than attractive one on the Ford Econoline chassis... 190.. 1995.. I'll park on the fringe of the rallys.. nobody will notice...it'll be ok.... and it's still an Airstream!!!
Don's still a trailer guy, this one's for me!!! but he's getting excited about it... I don't have it in my hands yet... waiting for the pink slip to get here from California before I hand over the money!!! ... I'm going down to play with it tomorrow... it's staying about 12 miles south of us at the moment in Seaside, the town where Bob and LeeLee stopped on their way thru here a couple of years back... And I'll take piccys... It's not pretty , but I love it already..
Astrodokk, our trailer is 27'... seems big now!! this will be a good option for shorter trips and more flexability on parking and such.. the big plus is that I can drive it easily.. ok, everybody keep having fun!!! hugs and all, bye for now, gail

Julie,
It was a blast and a total surprise! We have a very diverse group of friends and it is always fun to get everyone together. Everything from engineers, educators, rocket scientists, sailing bums, doctors, musicians, etc. There were no wallflowers in the group and everyone had a great time. The only ones missing who could have made the event even better were all of you folks! So... We will just have to party even harder at Casini in the Spring.

Happy Holidays,

Gail, we don't care what you and Don show up with, we just care that you two show up
DG is down by the river and you can always hide behind Vinnie's slide

That's what I have to keep saying too about my big brown Class A: "See, it says Airstream right on it!" so we just need to do a little re-arranging, get Adam's diesel pusher, my Class A, Sue's nice Interstate that was parked next to me in Jackson, and yours all clustered together in a "Variety is Special" section. We could have some 345's as a transitional model.
