Isn't there already a plan to have the Rally in April in the Northern area? Olema or Casini would both work well for that and maybe try something different for now? Just a thought...

Hi Bam,

Well, since there is interest in Olema and Casini from some of the members, it might be a good idea to start out w/a preliminary poll of choices, then take it from there.

The April NorCal rally is held at Casini Ranch. It is big enough to handle even last minute comers and everyone can make their own reservations. So I would suggest that the next rally be central or so cal during the winter. But its just a suggestion.

The Olema campground I think folks are referring to is located here:

May not been open much longer, Jeff

This might be just too easy...

How about 29 Palms/Joshua Tree for winter (too hot there for summer) South
Casini for spring (already planned) North
Olema for summer (plenty of time to plan and nice in the summer) North
Shaver Lake for fall (also plenty of time to plan) Kind of Central

Doesn't that pretty much cover all the bases?

Hi Jeff,

I checked out that link..seems like from the reviewer, the campground may be closed by the 29th of October!..if that's so, the Olema choice will be out!..perhaps other members can confirm this too.

The weekend of January 12 is a 3-day weekend for some folks (Martin Luther King Day) so may contribute to a better turnout. The FCR is too far for me (700 mi) for the amount of time I have so I won't be going there. Still, it probably wouldn't be right to compete directly with them and have it in mid Feb.

I would say sometime in January or early February. The poll will narrow it down.

Casa de Fruta RV park by Hollister and Gilroy?

Has anyone stayed at this place? I saw it the last time I went over the Pacheco pass. It looked pretty nice from the road. I have found some fair reviews on the net. This would be centrally located for both regions and easy access. It is located at the foot of the mountains by Gilroy and Hollister. Prices seem reasonable. Maybe someone has some input about the place and the weather at different times of the year. I do know summers can get pretty warm in Gilroy and Hollister.

That's a good thought (Jan.12) A three day weekend might be helpful and we shouldn't compete with FCR since some have expressed an interest in attending that Rally as well.

How about it Pollsters? Anyone want to put a poll together with some dates?
