Some of us ( me) still have to build a trailer to come to the Rally, hence my lack of time to peruse the forums.
Looks like I will make it, although the interior and/or the polish might not be all the way finished. I am working likemad to meet the deadline. I really really really want to make it!
I have camped at Pismo Coast Village a few times before, and it's a fun place to be.
You're right, BigDee, it's a great town for bicycling.
the pics below show our site we had a few years ago when we had the Tradewind. Another photo shows the love of my life biking on the beach at Pismo.
Well I for one am excited. Looking forward to meeting all who are going. this will be my first time with a bunch of Airstream(ers).
Last time I was camping at the beach there was one other Airstream in the whole campground. Felt like long lost brothers...
im going to need the weekend for rest. Im going Flyfishing at the Big Horn River in Montana this Sunday for a week, then Reno the week before pismo. I figure 4-5 naps a day will work for me by then
ps Big Dee.... Mike has recieved his refund for his spot from me so im good to go.
SilverSurfer- I wish I had gotten more sites but alas the 15 sites are taken. I'll put you on the wait for cancel list. Also, try calling the park because they may have some sites available. PCV's website is linked in post #1. I'll get more sites next time.
Uwe- Get working! I very much want to hear some Baja stories around the dinner table. And NICE pics! Did you sell the Tradewind?
Ed- Thanks for getting Mike taken care of. Big Horns sound real nice this time of year. Enjoy. And get those naps in. I'm for naps too!
Waiting for everyone to chime in! Time's ticking away and soon it will be October!
Uwe- Get working! I very much want to hear some Baja stories around the dinner table. And NICE pics! Did you sell the Tradewind?
Sure did. Shouldn't have, but did anyways. Now I'm stuck, did not go out once all summer. But the 63 is coming along nicely. I am building out the interior right now, hopefully will have beds and bathroom working before October.
I'm off 9/19 for a 11 day trip to southern Ireland, so while Ed is spinning his fish stories, we'll be planning our next Baja rally around the campfire and maybe I'll have a few Irish tales to tell.
Not sure how we're going to get Ed's new axles installed during all these 'side trips'!

We will bring Margaritas, smoked salmon for appetizers and some kind of side dish. Looking forward to meeting everyone. We had 3 weeks in Scotland in August and were amazed at how small their TT and motorhomes were--would love to ship our beastie over some year and tour but not in the cards at this point. see ya

Hey all, about time I chime in. Been busy with our other love, and that being our Citroen Ami, and hauling her around to french car rallies.Big Dee, yes we will bring plenty of fire wood. To bad we can't come earlier or stay later, so you may fine yourselves a little cool on those nights, we're not there. We will also bring a few dessert treats. Should be a another great rally! See all of you soon, Jeff
Can you guys believe that we are down to less than 4 weeks away? Wow, hard to believe that its here already! I am taking my coach down a week early so my brother can stay in it for the week as a vacation. That means I have less than 3 weeks before I get my coach out of storage. Yipee!
I called PCV to confirm all the extra dates. They have us all down. All systems GO.
Uwe- How's that bathroom coming along? Making steady progress, I hope. Can't wait to see all that fine work.
Murray- 11 days of Irish pubs? Hope you can find your way home in time for the rally. Have fun and tavel safe.
Ron & Debbie- The second round of Margs is on me. I am currently on a Margarita kick right now. They taste so good when good tequila is used. Happy Hour in Pismo. Sounds sooo nice!
Jeff- Benn wondering where you've been lately. The Citreon car rallies, huh? Sounds like you've been busy. But it's almost time to dust of the AS and get her ready. And a BIG thanks for the firewood. I bet the nights in October get a little nippy in Pismo. Ahhh so nice.
Anybody else figure out their potluck dish, yet?

Ahhhh! The main draw, besides the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the Airsteam comradery, is the yummy food. I was thinking of making a large flat of apple cobbler (with delicious Sonoma County Gravenstein apples) topped with a cinnamon laden buttery crust.Mmmmm....
We are trying to piece together our Tradewind, which decided that it needed a new toilet AND a new Dometic Fridge !!! Alas... the next few weekends will be spent readying the ol' silver vessel for the Pismo Adventure.
Looking forward to seeing the dotted (a)illuminations amongst the sand dunes! and seeing all of you!
Karin, you are so right! Yes, the highlight of the weekend is the Saturday night dinner. The food has been so fantastic, I just can't wait! I still think of Tinsel's corn bread from Laguna Seca.
Here's the list so far...

Ya know Ms Tinsel made two differnt types of corn bread from scratch in the airstream oven at that rally. Plain corn bread and chili cheese, baked in a traditional black iron skillet. The chili cheese was gone pronto. Glad it was so memorable.
I just today, out of nowhere, got a smile on my face when a thought of the rally crept into my head. It's getting real close and I CAN"T FREAKIN WAIT! Soon it will be happy hour in Pismo with my rally friends! Ahhhhh...
Ed- Wow, great pics. The Big Horn area is so beautiful especially in the early fall. Montana is one of my very favorite states to camp in. Nice catch. Did you keep it for dinner?
Tinsel- I remember well those chili cheese corn bread squares. I was so impressed with Mrs. Tinsel, seeing them in the black skillets still warm from the oven. I remember thinking "Now that's the perfect campground food!"
Ray- Have fun on your caravan to San Diego and see you in Pismo soon for some more campfire Geocaching stories.
Is this going to be a great dinner or what? Take a look...

It just dawned on me...... Ms. Tinsel didn't make the corn bread in the Airstream oven, (she is to big to fit in the oven) she baked the corn bread in the Airstream oven. Just thought I would clear that up. Well,! no more beers for me!!!
