Best wishes to all for a terrific rally in wonderful Monterey County.

Perhaps we can catch up again at the winter or spring rallies. We're just next door and will be anxious to get back on the circuit soon.

Cheers to all!!!

Hi all, first a big thanks to Jeff "CoastalView" for following up with me regarding attending the Lake San Antonio rally. Alas, I cannot attend do to an office move that I am obligated to perform that weekend. I'm still the new mom of a new bambi and eager to connect with you all. I hope you'll put me on the invite list for the next one!

tarantula errrr..turkey fun fact

not to forget that there are other creatures at LSA, this one is in honor of the wild turkeys who run through the campground...

The idea that Benjamin Franklin preferred the Turkey as the national bird of the United States comes from a letter he wrote to his daughter in 1784 criticizing the choice of the Eagle as the national bird and suggesting that a Turkey would have made a better alternative.

There is a flock of 10 or so turkeys where we live. If only they were uglier to chase the deer from our plants. Well, maybe not the fawns. Tarantulas will be a change for us. Do we have to lock up our 'bear' food for tarantulas....turkeys?

Where did you ever get that idea? That's why LL is riding shotgun this time!

The difference between a convoy and a caravan- a caravan is a group of lost souls following another lost soul usually without communication. A convoy is a group of individuals that travel together talking on the cb usually following someone with a rubber duck mounted on the hood. DG

SO, placing a rubber ducky on the hood of the burb will give you more confidence in yourself?

Wink Why a duck?

What's up with this duck biz-nezz? I thought we were focusing on Turkey's and Tarantulas?

So, it's raining up here in Petaluma, CA (shock!) and all of my nice, gnarley branches are getting soaked, thus rendering my "Burning Tarantula" project a soggy mess. I was wondering, how large a fire can we build before Mr. Ranger-Sheriff comes along and quells our frivolity? Hmmm?

I suggest (again with the suggestions!) that the kid-lettes can spend part of the day, collecting branches and twigs and build smaller Tarantulas for a bon fiery demise! I volunteer to oversee the making of the creations and I'm hoping that Merideth (aka Airdrmr) will assist. Any other volunteers? I know it sounds a little macabre and pagan, but they are not real, REALLY! -Kind of Hallows Eve-ish.

I plan on playing my violin to the Doors', "Come on Baby, Light My Fire" as the Arachnids alight and I hope someone is bringing a guitar!Puh-leeze!

Pinkflamingoes: Are you still coming, we have a six-man tent and will throw it in the truck! Come!

Anyone else want to come? No rezzies required...only a shiny bit of silver!

We are also bringing our Coleman Canoe (genuine Plastic), if anyone wants to borrow it (lifejackets included for possible wine-induced overboard situations).

Counting the days. Can't wait.

you guys are funny. i say yes we must have a burning spider. not to rip off burning man,...well ok....to rip off burning man, we are now calling our rally "burning spider". instead of the black rock desert, we will be exploring our inner selves in the deep, dark, scary woods of california oak country. oh yea dancing around our burning spider with wine and patron. man i can't wait either!

Lightbulb A few points

1. As Neil is now leading, I have no idea when wed we will be arriving at the north shore, he's prone to missing turn offs!
2. The duck on the hood is all about the movie "Convoy"-10-4 that Karen! My 20 will be north shore wed & thur, then south shore fri - sat - and sun nites. That means Dan will have company thru monday.
3. I did not know the burning spider fire was to be at my campsite? I usually retire around 2200 hrs. Did I volunteer for this duty earlier?
4. I'm scheduled to pick up the "wine" at Michael-David Vinyard on monday!I'll post more when I have the goods in hand. What great people they are, gifting us some great bottles.
