We will be there on the 25th probably down at the end there like last year .
Ill be bringing my honda trail 90 to cruise around on ,its highway licensed
so it will be fun . I guess Ill try to get a cleanup polish on the tradewind ,
but probably not too spectacular .One thing Ive found with lots of camping
with our rig ,having the trailer level is critical to the fridge cooling ,now thats
seems like a logical thing ,and it is ,but using those little levels that the RV stores have help with getting your airstream level as possible ,definately
help the fridge cool down ,it really makes a huge difference .
See you all there .

Hey Scott - wanna come over to my house and do a little polishing on my 1/2 polished trailer? I don't think we've polished much since the LAST rally at LSA . We kinda ran out of steam.
I'm glad you and Lily are coming again this year. Is Sarah coming too? Maybe we can talk her into painting the little girls faces again. They loved it last year....

Hey, Good people; Lynn and I are anxiously looking forward to LSA. We had such a good time at Casini. However, we have been busy....not polishing but camping all summer. We spent a few days with doorgunner and LL at Sugarpine at Tahoe. We have also spent 2 trips to our favorite family campground, Wright's Lake. We got back Tues last (were going to stay an extra couple days but had battery problems in both car and Trade Wind. Thank goodness for Honda) and plan another trip in a week. Our son, is coming home on leave from Kuwait/Iraq (no plan to return...the Navy says) and asked to spend a few days at the Lake. Doorgunner is at Calaveras Big Trees for a day or two more. So before he posts his prize winning snaps I will share some of our pics of Wright's Lake. Included in the pics are some of our family, our daughter, two grandsons, our son-in-law and of course Lynn and I. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing Neil, That back channel is a great location for kayak/canoe. There are fish in there too...
Wow, that brings up some good memories for me.

more info!
Dan I just got back. yes camping after Labor day is nice indeed.
I posted info on Calaveras State Park under the West Review section for those interested.
Neil- nice shots indeed.
Lets see I think Scott fired one out of the spud gun last year. Be nice to see him and Lilly. She does such great Airstream stained glass hanging thingies!
So we went to Ironstone vinyards to see Etta James, the preacher (help me someone I can't remember his name) and the great B.B. King! 7pm till 11:30 pm. Great place for lve music- under the stars, We had the company of other Airstreamers that stumbled into Big Trees and got a site right next to LL and I. Who'ld a thunk it.
LSA is still a ways away- might have to sneak something else in!
Sorry I can no longer post pics here. DG
Al Green from Memphis- what a brass section. heck they all had dynamo brass sections!

Bruce
Gonna mention Bruce just to get dg's goose, and get his screws to come loose.
Big Dee...tickets are online now, my days of sleeping in the parking lot at Record Factory are over. Don't tell Bruce the Moose but part of me is hoping I can't get tickets so I can come to LSA and sit on my caboose and sip on gin and juice. I've seen him a gazillion times. Plus The Mighty Led Zep might reunite!! Gotta save my money for The Hammer Of The Gods...

Wrights Lake is in the Sierras, east of Placerville off of Hwy 80 in Nor Cal. You turn up a dirt logging road off of 80 and travel a few miles (8 or 10?). There is a small "Wrights lake" sign marking the road.
It's been a few years since I've been there, to the best of my memory there are no hook-ups other than water. The water is spigots that you can't hook up to, just for incidental use IIRC.
It is a great area, with a warm shallow lake that is great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. At the upper end of the lake is a great channel where the incoming stream enters the lake. (Pictured in Neil's photos above) This is a nice area to paddle.

Boy, Dave you sure haven't been there in a lo-o-o-ong time. 2 ways into Wright's and both paved. A few miles east of Kyburz on 50 is a marked paved road. However, trailers are not recommended as it is steep with hairpin curves for the first few miles. The popular way in is take the Crystal Basin road that is just a few miles east of Fresh Pond on 50 (just east of Pollack Pines). I would get your gas and any supplies there as the one other resource charges what the can and will if you are desperate. Anyway take the Crystal Basin road (nice paved road but steep) to the Ice House/Wrights Lake turn (right turn). This intersection is a mile ot 2 past the Ice House store and resort (this store and gas is pricey only because they are the only one). Travel east after the right turn for I can't recall how far...maybe 10 miles because this is an old logging road but nicely paved. In some places it is narrow and windding. Watch for the signs as they are forest service brown wood ones. The campground has paved roads and pads. Plenty of water and recent new nicely done pit toilets. The campsites are roomy.....very nice. A 25' trailer and TV will fit it most sites. Check ReserveAmerica for the campground map. NOW back to the Rally thread.

Camping School Dropout...
Well, the new job and several family obligations got to us, and we're out of the LSA Rally.. Sigh... I hope "un-retiring" doesn't have more negative consequences, or I might have to re-think the whole idea...
For the dinner Saturday, this means the opportunity to bring a green salad for 120 people is now available... Dianne is willing to share "Secrets" if anyone would like to get the magic recipe...
For those looking to host Tarantula races, there is also a vacancy...
For Ingrid and Jeff, we won't be bringing and setting up our tent, with the light on...
Sorry to all we'll miss seeing, and looking forward to more Calif Forum Rallies after this one.. We are going to Albuquerque, after negotiating permission to take vacation during week # 2 on new job....

Cool! We need a smoking section during the movie. I hear cigar smoke helps keep the tarantulas at bay...at least that's what we can tell those who complain about it!
