ok uwe- I was going to wait til the poll closed on August 1 but I think everyone has voted that had an interest. So I am declaring the weekend of October 20-22 as the winner. Mark your calendars, ready the silver bullet and load the family, because it's almost time to rally. I did not get away this summer so I am REALLY looking forward to an October rally blowout!

Again everyone, the rally is set for October 20-22.

oh yeah- uwe, Jeff and anybody else: We need to decide on which campground. Shall we settle on Redondo Vista as was discussed? That one has lots of sites right? Sounds good to me.

OK, OK, we'll probably end up heading up there too (assuming our harvest is somewhat wrapped-up by then.) Sounds like fun hob-knobbing with other 'streamers. San Antone' isn't my first pick for a quality campsite, but my experience is limited when it comes to camping on public sites (my camping experience is almost entirely on private sites....long story and would be boring to describe here.)

Anyway, we live in nearby Paso Robles and will probably end up at San Antone' with you good folks. Nice time of year up at the lakes...not too hot, evenings are certainly cool (bring blankets and warm jackets for evening "fellowship" (partying.)

We'll bring some wine...make sure to drop in!

Just one more thought...I'll likely bring my 4.75 y/o daughter with me..along with my 30 y/o (ha!) wife, so we'll likely want to be near the large grass play area. Nothing for the chilluns to do all day out there with us old farts...food for thought. Are we the only ones with a youngster?

There's a large camping area with hookups, somewhat terraced spaces, in several loops. I liked camping there last time we went. Is it Redondo Vista?

Robert,

There's great opportunity for bike riding, hiking, all sorts of nature type things. If all else fails, we'll borrow a grand kid or two to bring along to play with yours.

We'll be bringing our young son - he turns 7 this Sunday - but is a charming and well behaved companion for younger children. (If that aint maternal pride speaking, I don't know what is.)

We can vouch for that. He came to our Baja Forums Rally earlier this year. A wonderful kid.
