Hey folks anyone have 8 feet of 1" blue beltline just hanging around? yea I know I can get it by the foot at that place-- was just thinking someone might have a leftover piece for barter. Thanks PM me Tim swap at the lake!
Well, since we're tearin' up Tim's trailer and having a swap meet- why not have a seminar!
Uwe and I are offering to do a short demonstration seminar on the art of Olympic riveting and head- shaving (rivets only please!).
The project would be a window gasket replacement on a Hehr window on my '57 FC. It's the same method used to replace 'riveted on door gasket on the early trailers, and will end your fear of rivet guns. This is a perfect opportunity for me to employ the "Tom Sawyer' approach, since everyone will want to try it ( and I only have 6 more windows to do!)
Anyone Interested?

I'm up for the rivet a rama. Seems like we should be able to do all the windows! Idrilled a dozen holes in Munimula today to remove the blue plastic trim. cake walk. this aluminum stuff is easy. get er done.
Creampuff, since I can't be there for the whole time and will be up for just a short time, when were you thinking of doing this? I'd be interested in learning. I could plan my time to include a lesson, and maybe a morter/spudgun/stealth aircraft demo

I have a rivet removal tool coming in the mail and an air riveting gun burning a hole in my toolbox. I really want to learn this and feel comfortable doing it. I'm IN like Flynn or whatever they used to say. Will the demo be with an air riveter?
It's only fair that I mention that I have BAD window karma. But I'll watch or I could even bring a scrap of aluminum to practice on so your trailer windows remain safe. I have nothing in return to offer except a demonstration of how not to put on gasket.

Tim, I think I've got at least that much. I'll pack it with me. Jeff
As some of you know I have gotten two Airstreams from SkyRiver RV in Paso Robles. So today when Lori from SkRiver called to see how I was doin and was I still happy with the trailer I told her about the NorCal Rally and asked her if she could bring up a new unit so anybody curious about the '07s can have a look. We'll see if it works out.
I also directed her here for herself and for her customers who prefer a more casual approach to camping fun.
Jack and I will be at the demonstration for sure! We have been tip-toeing around some of our larger projects until we felt more comfortable riveting. Thanks for offering to do this for all of us novice riveters!
