why send a photo? that's exactly what it looks like. you gotta see it in the dark to really appreciate smoke and mirror technology.
We tooled thru Fallen Leaf campground while at Tahoe. It's ok , kinda open. big spots. not much of a kayaking problem.

oh I forgot- I will be bringing another rocket this year. lol

Perhaps a little advertising on the white box will solve your fixed income issues. Or just keep your cooler better supplied.

When you find that small village, please let me know. Not only do I kayak, I've been called an idiot quite often.

Hi Tim,
I could not pass this one up. You see I have been known to kayak but I ride most of the rapids in the most stable kayak position which is the same as my drinking glass-- bottom up.

Hi Ken
Funny when I'm upside down in my kayak, just hanging out there, holding my breath, enjoying the view, watchin whatever is floating next to me, you get the picture , well that's the Australian Roll, also known as the "down under". when I get tired of that or run out of breath I roll rightside up and have a cold one, who's bringing the cold ones to JRRV? anyone?
how about a street dance on friday evening?that could be a fun time. anyone up for that? anyone have a sound system? DJ?

Been reading DG's 'white Box' exploits, trying to figure out how many cans of Krylon 'Aluminum' it will take to make that contraption more pleasing to the eye?...

Maybe a few gallons of Bondo to round out the corners?...

If all that fails, we could drape 'her' in some good old Marine Corps Camo tarps...

"Australian Roll" hmm, thats what its called. I have done some of my best rivver running upside down. There are those who say I never saw a rapid that did not make me flip just at the critical time. Many rapids I was doing a half "eskimo roll" as my boat went over, and one time I managed to roll back just before the main part of the rapid only to be headed upstream and have to ride the rapid backwards. (That one I claimed was the way I planned it.)

OH, Shanah loves to dance, so we are in -- but have no portable sound system

I have waited all summer for this and we are only but a month away! Time to get excited and check in.. Everyone getting their rigs ready? Neil painted the Buick for us.. Ken may have actually washed his trailer?! DG is bringing a white box . Ray, Jeff and Robert (your host for the evening) is onboard..

Hey, Vinny:

The trailer gets washed once a year whether it needs it or not, Oh, and some Walberizing too.

OH, and it does need it.

Were getting thirsty and hungry too.

Lets see, when are we having this rally?

Regards, K and S

BURNING MAN 2010: Metropolis Photos - a set on Flickr
Here's some pics my son took. The art car was our mode of transport all week. We logged about 200 miles and carried countless virgins all over the playa. My friend built it and my son drives it, while I handle "access control". It's the most fun you can have on ten wheels!

It's almost time to rally is damn right!!! Woohoo!!! I can not wait!! Had my rig out in August and it's all ready inside. Just have to wash her and she's ready! I'm arriving Thursday! Yipee!

IDK if anybody wants to keep a pot luck list (not me that's for sure), I've decided to go back to my good ol' tri-tip. Mmmmm beef is good and feeds an army!

I noticed that Karin isn't going to make it with her fiddle so will we have live music? Anybody want to perform for the group?

For the newbies, here's the short and loose rally schedule:

Rally Schedule
Friday: Arrival Greetings
Friday Afternoon: "Let's Get This Party Started!" BYO Happy Hour hosted by Vinnie and Cindy (Airslide) @ 5
Saturday: Trailer Tours/ Gab Fest/ Hot Tub/ Pool/ Casino
Saturday Afternoon: No Host Wandering Happy Hour
Saturday Evening: Grand Pot Luck Dinner @ 6:00 Sharp
Saturday Night: Bonfire at Party Central
Sunday: Departure Goodbyes

We try to sit down for the pot luck at six o'clock promptly. Please plan your food preparation accordingly.

See everybody in four weeks!!!

Finally someone noticed! I was not feelin' the love...just kidding!

We're sad that we won't be able to make it this year, but know that you all will rally to extreme heights-as usual!

Too many irons in the fire during this time of year. Mark is racing off-road motorcycles, while I'll be playing with a rock band until my age catches up with me.

Please hoist a libation or two for me and make sure it involves gin.

Love to all of you!

Here are a few photos of last years bash!

Does this mean Robert will actually host in person this time?
